1.  What is the Linksys Skill? 
 
The Linksys Skill for Alexa lets you enable or disable the Parental Controls and network connectivity for devices on your Linksys router or Velop system.

2.  What is required to use the Linksys Skill?

To use the Linksys Skill, you need the following:
  • A Linksys router or Velop system with remote access enabled
  • The Amazon Alexa app working with your Amazon Echo, Tap, or Echo Dot
  • An active Linksys server account.  To set up an account, click here.
  • The Linksys Skill enabled within the Alexa app
  • An active internet connection

4.  How do I get Alexa to use the Linksys Skill?

The Linksys Skill for Alexa lets you disable/enable Parental Controls and network connection for devices.  For example, "Alexa, turn OFF the Wi-Fi for Timmy's iPad".

5.  Will Alexa be able to control all my Linksys routers and Velop systems?

No.  If you have more than one Linksys router or Velop system associated with your Linksys server account, Alexa will only control the one most recently associated before the Skill is enabled. 

6.  What are the supported languages of my Linksys Skill for Alexa?

The Linksys Skill for Alexa is only supported in English (CA) and English (US).

SETUP AND INSTALLATION

1.  How do I enable the Linksys Skill in the Alexa app?
 
To enable the Linksys Skill, the Amazon Alexa app must be installed and working with your Amazon Echo, Tap, or Echo Dot.  To learn how to enable the Linksys Skill, click

TROUBLESHOOTING
 
1.  What should I do when Alexa says, "I'm sorry, I don't know how to help you with that."?
 
Make sure your Linksys router or Velop system is associated with your Linksys server account.
 
2.  What should I do when Alexa says, "Associate a Linksys product with your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account and ask again."?

3.  What should I do when Alexa says, "There was an error processing your request.  Your account is not currently available."?
 
The Linksys server might be down for maintenance.  Try to check if you can log in to your Linksys server account.
 
4.  What should I do if the commands are not working?
 
Try to disable the Skill and enable it again.  To do this, follow the steps below:
 
Step 1:
Launch the Amazon Alexa app.

Step 2:
Tap on the Menu icon, then select Skills & Games.

Step 3:
Tap on Your Skills at the top-right corner of your screen.

Step 4:
Tap Linksys Smart Wi-Fi

Step 5:
Tap the DISABLE SKILL button.  On the Disable Skill screen, tap DISABLE.

Step 6:
Then, tap ENABLE TO USE to enable it again.  Then, you will be prompted to provide the Email Address and Password for your Linksys server account.  Enter your credentials then tap Login.
