Basic Wireless Settings

This page allows you to configure the WiFi settings of your network.

NOTE: The features will vary depending on the model of your router. Some settings are limited if you have the EasyMesh™ feature enabled.

EasyMesh

The EasyMesh technology allows your router to add a Linksys EasyMesh child node to extend your WiFi and be compatible with other EasyMesh-supported devices.
  • To set up your EasyMesh network, enable the EasyMesh option, click OK on the popup window that will appear and click Save at the bottom to save your settings.

NOTE: This option only needs to be enabled on the parent node (the router that is connected to your modem).

  • Disable EasyMesh if you are not using child nodes to extend the WiFi, or you no longer want to use it. Click Save to apply changes.

NOTE: If you have existing child nodes in your network, turning OFF the EasyMesh feature on the parent node will disconnect all your child nodes from your network.
  • The EasyMesh feature is disabled when the router is on factory defaults but enabled after you set up the router using the setup wizard.
  • To add an EasyMesh child node to extend your WiFi, click on Add a new node. For instructions, click here.

NOTE: Make sure your node has the latest firmware that supports EasyMesh.
  • To view the list of your connected client devices or child nodes, click on EasyMesh information.

Channel

The recommended channel setting is Auto.

SSID

The SSID is the WiFi name. When you change the SSID on the parent node, the new SSID will sync to the connected child nodes. The clients will need to reconnect to the new WiFi name. Check the box to broadcast your SSID.

Pressing the button for 3 seconds or less, or just a tap will initiate pairing between the node and a WPS client. Pressing it for more than 3 seconds will initiate the pairing with a child node.
