How to schedule a pause using the Parental Controls feature

The Parental Controls feature lets you create a schedule to block internet access for a device at a certain time and day. You can also create multiple schedules for a device. There are no limitations. To do this, follow the instructions below:
Step 1:
Go to the Parental Controls section of your Linksys app. If you haven’t set up Parental Controls on any devices, tap Control a Device.

If you already have Parental Controls on one or more devices, select one of them from the list or tap Add a device to select a new device.

Step 2:
Select a device from the list.

Select Schedule a Pause.

Step 4:
Select which days and times you want to block internet access then tap Save.

NOTE: Make sure the router time at the bottom of the screen is correct, otherwise tap Edit.

After performing the steps above, you should see an orange bar showing Internet pauses at xxx, where xxx is the time you set.

To Edit a schedule:
Step 1:
Tap on the device from the Parental Controls list.

Step 2:
Select Schedule a Pause.

Step 3:
Select the schedule you want to edit (if more than one schedule appears) and make your changes then tap Save.
NOTE: You can also add another schedule for the same device.

Once you are in edit mode, you have the option to select a previous schedule, edit the existing schedule or delete a schedule. Make sure to tap Save to apply changes.

When a scheduled pause is in effect:

Paused devices will appear in the Parental Controls list and dashboard as shown below (e.g. Hector’s Mac).

If a device is paused because of a schedule, the time display will show the time the schedule ends. For example, the pictures below show Paused until 6:00 am in red which means this device will not have internet access until 6:00 am.
  • Click on the pause button to pause the schedule (this will allow internet access to the client)
  • To resume the schedule, just tap the play button

If a scheduled pause is not yet in effect, the time display shows the time the schedule begins. In the example below, the internet connection on Hector’s Mac will be paused at 8:00 pm.

In the example below, the iPad has a future set schedule and will display the day and time for the next scheduled time.
