Configuring the Media Server feature on your Linksys cloud account

The External Storage Tool on the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router has a Media Server feature that will enable you to stream media files to your DLNA or UPnP enabled devices within your network. Follow the instructions below on how to enable this feature using your Linksys cloud account.

Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) is a standard set by electronic companies to ensure interoperability of devices within a network. If you have a DLNA Certified® device connected to your home network, it will automatically communicate with other connected DLNA Certified® devices.

NOTE: The DLNA server feature is available on the latest Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) are protocols for discovery of devices within a network as well as automatic configuration and data transfer via peer to peer connection.
