Changing the router administration password using the Linksys app

Changing the router administration password is highly recommended to keep your network settings secure and protected from unauthorized access. Using the Linksys app, you can set your own router password so that only you will have admin rights to your network. To learn how to do this, follow the steps below.

NOTE: Steps and images may vary depending on the operating system of your mobile device. In the examples below, an iOS device is used.

Step 1:
Connect your mobile device to your router's Wi-Fi then open the Linksys app.

Step 2:
Tap Manage Your Wi-Fi.

Step 3:
You will be prompted to log in using your Linksys server account. Enter the necessary credentials and tap Log in.

NOTE: You can also choose to log in using your Router Password.

Step 4:
On the Dashboard, tap the menu icon User-added image on the upper-left corner.

Step 5:
Tap Network Administration.

Step 6:
Tap
Change Router Password and Hint.

Step 7:
Tap the field under Router Password to enter your new personalized password.

QUICK TIP: You can also add a hint to help you remember your password.

Step 8:
Make sure to tap Save across the top right-hand side of the screen.
