Setting up Prioritization on the Linksys WRT32X and WRT32XB

The Linksys WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine (Linksys WRT32X) and Linksys WRT32X Dual-Band Gaming Router Designed for Xbox (Linksys WRT32XB) use the Killer™ Prioritization Engine to automatically synchronize with a Killer-enabled computer or device to ensure a fast and smooth gameplay.  These routers also let you set a Higher, Normal or Lower Priority to your other devices or computers.

When the Linksys WRT32X detects a Killer device, it will automatically add it to the Killer Priority queue for traffic prioritization.  It will also detect an Xbox® gaming device though it will be added to the Normal Priority queue.  You can manually set any Xbox device to Higher Priority if needed.

When the Linksys WRT32XB detects an Xbox One® gaming device and a Killer device it will automatically add them to the Higher and Killer Priority queue, respectively, for traffic prioritization.  All other devices will be on the Normal Priority queue.  Prioritization will still work for all other Xbox consoles, but take note of these  differences:
  • Xbox One is automatically added to Higher Priority.
  • Xbox 360® needs to be manually added to Higher Priority.
This article will guide you on how to set up Prioritization on your Linksys WRT32X and WRT32XB.
