Downloading the latest driver or firmware from the Linksys support site

Keeping the driver or firmware of your Linksys device updated will fix issues that you may have encountered while using it.  An updated driver or firmware downloaded from the Linksys support site may also contain device feature enhancements that are not available on previous versions.  This article will provide you with instructions on how to download the latest driver or firmware for your Linksys device.

  • Ensure that your computer has an active internet connection.  If your computer is connected to the router but could not go online, test your connection by disconnecting the computer from your router and plugging it directly to your Cable or DSL modem.  If you are still unable to go online, call your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • Images and download processes may vary depending on the operating system (OS) of the computer.

Step 1:
Go to the Linksys Support Site and enter the model number of your Linksys device in the Search by Product Name or Model Number field.

IMPORTANT:  The hardware version is located beside or beneath the model number and is labelled version, ver. or V.  If there is no version number beside the model number on your Linksys product, the device is version 1.  If you still have trouble finding your version number, see the complete article to learn more.
