Encountering the error message “Unable to access dual-stacked content.”

In the first quarter of 2011, the last blocks of unused IPv4 addresses have been assigned. However, the Internet continues to grow despite the exhaustion of the available IPv4 addresses. For continued growth, the Internet including all its users will have to be migrated to IPv6, a protocol which provides an infinite number IP addresses to users.

There are already IPv6 websites currently deployed on the Internet and the migration of IPv4 sites is slowly taking place. One of the migration strategies being used is Dual Stack.

What is Dual Stack?

Dual Stack is a migration strategy deployed for the IPv4 to IPv6 transition. It is when an IPv4 network is implemented with an IPv6 network at the same time. It makes the content or website backward compatible, allowing access to users with IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity.

There will be instances when some end-users will encounter accessing dual-stacked content.
