Manually setting up the Linksys WAP750AC to Access Point mode

The default mode when you click on Manual Setup as you configure your Linksys WAP750AC is Access Point mode only.  In order to change the mode to Range Extender mode, you will need to reset the Linksys WAP750AC and run the Setup software.  For instructions on how to do this, click here.

Before you start the setup process, make sure to take note of the following:
  • An additional Ethernet cable
  • An existing network (example: router or switch)
Step 1:
Plug the Linksys WAP750AC into a power outlet.

NOTE:  Wait for the Light Emitting Diode (LED) to change to amber.  To learn more about this device’s LED behavior, click here.

Step 2:
Connect an Ethernet cable from your existing router or network to the Linksys WAP750AC and wait until the LED turns solid green.

QUICK TIP:  A solid green LED light means that the extender is ready to use and that it has obtained an Internet Protocol (IP) address from the router.

Step 3:
Once the Linksys WAP750AC has obtained an IP address from your router, connect a computer or a mobile device to the Linksys WAP750AC’s default SSID, which is Linksys AP Setup – xxx.  You should be connected to this to engage the setup.

QUICK TIP:  xxx are the last three (3) characters of the access point’s MAC Address.  The MAC Address of your access point is located on the label at the back of the device.

Step 4:
Open a web browser and enter http://ap.linksys.com or 192.168.1.1 in the Address bar to launch setup.

Step 5:
