Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it. The product does not function, cannot stay connected to the network for more than a few minutes. Main system wireless router is also a Linksys. After great luck with your products, this is the worst I have come across. Setup says it works, then it fails, with WPS or direct access either system. I would recommend buying a very long cord, save yourself the money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Planned Obsolescence? I wonder. I have always been a user and fan of Linksys/Cisco products and they have an excellent reputation. I purchased 2 of the RE6400 range extenders around 3 years ago. One was installed in North Carolina and the other in New York. The one in NC failed to operate in Oct. 2019 and nothing could be done to repair it. Would not master reset or even get recognized. So I thought OK this can happen, no big deal. Then in Nov. 2019 the one installed in NY started experiencing similar problems. No green LED and frequent loss of the internet. It did reconnect to the internet after a power on reset, but the green LED is intermittent and usually off completely. The internet connectivity is also intermittent. Seems strange to me that both units of similar age have failed near the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Night and Day Difference Idk how people couldn’t figure out how to set this up, download the manual online. I didn’t want to look for English so I just used some random language to get the website address. I used a Belkin N300 single band in my bedroom (I have a 600 sq ft apartment) and would get 4 mbs download and my iPhone and iPad would disconnect every time. Now that I bought this I’m at 90mbs. Yeah... it works.

My iphone will not stay connected to wifi extender but everyone else does

Asked by: marley
Hi, Marley. Make sure that your iPhone is within the Wi-Fi range of the range extender. Restarting or resetting the network settings of your iPhone might also help. Feel free to email us at LinksysCares@linksys.com so our Product Experts can check this further.

If the incoming WiFi is at 250 Mbps, what would be the expected speed of the signal out of this extensor (RE 6400)?

Asked by: Out_wifi_speed
The same, I always have the same. It’s great.

Is this extender compatible with the Hydra 6 Router

Asked by: jjmckay75
Hi, jjmckay75, You can connect the range extender to the Linksys Hydra Pro 6. Just to set your expectation that you will not be able to take advantage of the mesh technology since the range extender does not support this. On the other hand, our Velop Mesh WiFi Extender (WHW0101P) is a specialized range extender that supports mesh technology.

Is the Linksys RE6400 AC1200 BOOST EX WiFi Extender compatible with a Linksys WRT1900ACS router, also would this be a mesh network?

Asked by: Gary
Yes, Gary. The Linksys RE6400 should work fine with the Linksys WRT1900ACS router, and most of our Smart Wi-Fi routers. However, doing so will not make the entire system as Mesh as both of them are not mesh units. For more details and better assistance, please reach out at LinksysCares@linksys.com.
