Rated 1 out of 5 by from It failed horribly I replaced an older Linksys with this one. Should have taken 30 minutes. After 3 days of telephone support, hours and hours each day, we never got it to work. The support staff was tireless and did everything they could. Day one it would not accept old SSID's so I had to create new ones and reprogram every app in my home. It refused to get internet access from a brand new Spectrum modem. I struggled with on line support 2 hours from Sonos for speakers to get them to work on this router. The support team surrendered and said it mist be the modem. Spectrum came out and tested the modem on site. Said it was fine. I gave up and asked Spectrum to install their router. In 20 minutes everything was on line and stable. I returned this Linksys router. Lesson learned: if a product is not plug and play in an hour, dump it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Linksys hydra Seems to be a little weird. Doesn’t show a signal for several minutes throughout the day. Light shows it is on but no connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazing fast speeds! The day I installed this at home was the day my internet on my devices had no lag! I was able to watch my movies without the stutter, my online gaming on the cloud was amazing. The plus side, there was an app to monitor my connections!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Connection!! I was a bit skeptical about switching out our existing router with this Hydra 6 Dual Band Mesh Wifi 6 router by Linskys, since I've had the same router for over 5 years or so. I must say tho that I will not be going back. I've only had a few problems here and there with my other one but I also have to pay a monthly rent fee to use it. I can now use the internet in my yard which before I was never able to do before and I think that has to be the best thing about this new router! I’m highly impressed. The set up was super easy too, I just download the app and followed the prompts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid router The Linksys Hydra Pro 6 is a solid router, that does the job but may be slightly overpriced compared to similar products. The pros: Set-up is a breeze. No lag, and great coverage in my house. And I because it’s mesh-ready I have the ability to add a expand the range by creating a mesh network with an additional Linksys mesh router. There is an easy to sue interface for controlling the router. My “kids” are now adults, but there was a time I would have been thrilled by the built-in parental controls to pause internet access or block specific websites. The only major con again is the price point, as this router comes in slightly pricier than other products with similar features. Overall, it’s a great router, but not be the best bang for the buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Linksys WIFI 6 Router easy to install and quick. I hope that it's very secure, but time will only tell. So far, I am very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing I got this thinking that it would slow down my Wi-Fi even more. I would get 80mbs through Ethernet and it would always drop down when I used a router to like 40-50mbs but this router kept it at The same speed. My wifi is even a little fast at 86mbs, I have two devices plugged in via Ethernet too and still I have fast internet. The set up took forever but totally worth it.

Does this router have selectable frequencies so I can connect devices that require 2.4ghz to a discrete network for a DIY home security system?

Asked by: Bioguy
As far as I know, there is no selection for 2.4 or 5 GHz band, even though it is using both bands. It does use a/b/g/n/ac modes. The 2.4 GHz band is hidden by default.

Can I program the SSID & password for this router to be the same as my existing router?

Asked by: Fishtex
Yes, Fishtex. However, you might need to forget the Wi-Fi details on your devices to ensure they connect to the new one, as this could otherwise lead to confusion.

Can the radio power be selected. I am looking for a wifi router where I can set the radio power to the minimum needed.

Asked by: Zuku
No. WiFi RF power is not adjustable. If you are concerned about RF power, place router farther away from where people will stay. Use EMF Detector APP to measure signal strength around your house.
