Accessing the Network Storage’s Web-Based Setup Page Using Mac

All Linksys network storage has a built-in web-based setup page that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties.

NOTE:  Before accessing the network attached storage’s web-based setup page, make sure the router is powered ON and the computer is wired to the Ethernet ports on the router.  Determine the IP address of the LAN segment you’re connecting to since this will help you determine what IP address to set on the NAS. By default, "192.168.1.77" is the NAS’ IP address.  If your network is currently not on the same LAN segment as the NAS, it is recommended to change the network storage's IP address to match the LAN segment your network is using.

Accessing the Network Storage’s Web-Based Setup Page

Step 1:
Open a web browser such as Safari.

Step 2:
Go to the Address bar and enter your network storage’s IP address then press [Return].

NOTE:  If the IP address of the network storage has been changed, type the network storage’s IP address in the Address bar instead.  The network storage’s IP address can be changed by changing it on the network storage’s web-based setup page.

If you forgot the network storage’s IP address you can:

  • Check the network storage’s IP address.
  • Press the Reset button at the back of the network storage for 30 seconds.

NOTE:  This procedure will reset your network storage to factory defaults. Any settings on the network storage will be erased.

Step 3:
Once you click Administration, a new window will prompt for a Name and Password.  Enter “admin” for Name and Password fields, then click Log In.

NOTE:  If the password of the network storage has been changed, type the network storage’s new password in the Password field instead.  The network storage’s password can be changed by changing it on the network storage’s web-based setup page.
