Changing the basic wireless settings of your Linksys Tri-Band routers

Changing the basic wireless settings of your Linksys Tri-Band router can be done using your Linksys Smart cloud account.
NOTE:  You can also access your router’s wireless settings using its IP Address.

Why do you need to change it?
It is important to change the basic wireless security settings on your router to establish a unique and secure wireless network.  This includes naming your wireless network name (SSID), setting up a Wi-Fi password or changing your Wi-Fi password, selecting the type of security mode that is applicable within your network or wireless devices, and adjusting the wireless channel to resolve wireless interferences.
NOTE:  Changing your wireless settings will disconnect all devices from your router until you reconnect all your wireless devices using the new wireless settings.  To learn how, click here.

Step 1:
Access your Linksys router's cloud account via web browser or the Linksys app.  For instructions, click here.
NOTE:  If you haven’t set up a Linksys cloud account, click here or log in using the default IP Address of the router which is
Step 2:
Click Wireless.


Under the Wireless tab, the 5 GHz band steering is ON by default.
Step 3:

You can now modify the wireless settings that you want to set up on your Linksys Tri-Band router. 


QUICK TIP:  The Network modeChannel and Channel width are always set to Auto with band steering ON in order to automatically steer clients between each radio based on policies.  It is recommended to leave the Smart Connect feature ON.  If you need to configure advance settings on the individual 5 GHz radios, turn Smart Connect OFF.
Step 4:
Click Apply then click Ok.
