Downloading the latest driver for your Linksys wireless USB adapter
Downloading the latest driver of your Linksys adapter may be required for initial setup or reconfiguration purposes. This can be done by visiting the Linksys Support Site and by going to the adapter’s product page. The steps below will guide you on how to properly download the drivers for your Linksys wireless adapter.
Make sure to check the following before proceeding:
- Check the model and version number of the adapter by flipping the device over. The model and serial number should be on the product sticker. If you need more help, click here.
- Compatibility of your device with the operating system. Click here for a list of compatible devices for Windows 7.
Go to the Linksys Support Site. Click Support.
Enter the model number of your wireless adapter on the Search by Product or Model Number field and click the model number.
Click Downloads on the navigation bar. Alternatively, scroll down and click the Download Software link.
Select the hardware version of the device.
QUICK TIP: The hardware version can be found along with the model number of your Linksys device. If there is no version number beside the model number, it means that the device is a version 1. For more details on where to look for the model number of Linksys devices, click here.
Click on the Download link to download the driver.
NOTE: Once you have chosen the hardware version of your Linksys device, all the available downloads for that particular model will be displayed.
NOTE: On the End User Agreement pop-up window, click the Agree button found on the bottom portion of the window.
Select Save File and click the OK button.
NOTE: The file will be saved in a .zip format. It is suggested that you save the zip file on your Desktop or Downloads folder for easier access.
