Connecting devices using the WPS on the Linksys app

Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) securely adds devices to your WiFi without having to enter a network name and password. With the Linksys app, you can easily connect your devices to the network using WPS.

Before you begin: 
 
  • The device that you want to connect must also support WPS.
  • WPS is NOT available when your security mode is set to WEP, MAC filtering is ON, or Broadcasting is OFF.

This article will guide you on how to connect a device using WPS in the Linksys app. Follow the instructions below depending on your device's operating system.
 

Directions
 
1. Connect your mobile device to your router's WiFi then open the Linksys app.
 
2. Log in to the Linksys app.

3. On the Dashboard, tap the menu sf203478-001_en_v7.png icon in the upper-left corner.

4. Tap Wi-Fi Settings.

5. Scroll down and select Connect a Device With WPS.

6. Toggle the WPS switch to turn it ON and tap Connect. It may take up to 2 minutes for the WPS pairing to complete. To use a PIN instead, tap on Use a PIN.

Be sure to push the WPS button within 2 minutes to connect your device.

7. After the 2-minute timer, check if the device is connected to your WiFi. Once it’s connected, the device name will appear in the Devices section of the Linksys app. Tap the refresh sf203478-009_en_v7.png icon if needed.
