Overview of the Linksys Velop dashboard

The dashboard is your Velop's homepage.  Here, you can see if the Velop is online and how many devices are connected to your Velop network.

Below is a brief overview of the dashboard.

 
Dashboard IconDescription and Image
InternetThe Internet icon displays the node status as online or offline.

DevicesThe Devices icon displays the total number of current clients that are connected to the Velop network.

When you tap on Devices, it will show you information on the different devices connected to your network and those that are offline.  Tap a device to view or edit a specific device information.

Wi-FiThe Wi-Fi displays one Wi-Fi name for the entire Velop network.

  • Tapping on the name will take you to the Wi-Fi Settings page to make necessary wireless changes.

  • Tapping on the Share User-added image icon will generate a message giving you the option to share your Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password via text message, email or copying it to a clipboard on your phone.

Guest AccessGuest Access allows you to share internet connection.  With it, guests can go online but can’t see or access other connected devices and files on the Velop network.  You can turn Guest Access ON or OFF and give it a name and password.  You can even share Guest network credentials for your clients via email or text message.

Parental ControlsParental Controls is used to manage your kid’s internet use.  It allows you to pause internet or block specific websites.  When Parental Controls is enabled and configured, you will have the toggle switch set to the ON position and your devices will appear in the Parental Controls section.  Toggle the switch to the OFF position to disable the feature.

Device
Prioritization
The Device Prioritization section allows you to choose up to three devices for priority usage of your internet connection.  Those devices – wired and/or wireless – will always have the best access when connected.

External StorageThe External Storage screen shows the node or router that a storage device is connected to, along with an Eject option, each partition's name, and how much space they are currently using.

When Authentication is turned ON, access to storage devices is available to only those who have the username and password that you set.
