Wired or wireless PCI network adapter not detected by Windows

Linksys PCI network adapter cards require PCI Bus Mastering slots to function correctly.

Some older system motherboards do not have Bus Mastering PCI slots.  However, try the following if you are unsure:

  1. Shut your computer down and open the case.
  2. Remove and place the Linksys PCI network adapter into another available PCI slot.

NOTE:  If you have a PCI modem installed that is not being used, try using that PCI slot for your Linksys PCI network adapter instead.  Some PC manufacturers will place modems into a Bus Mastering slot.
  3. Start your computer again.  Your Linksys PCI network adapter may be automatically detected by Windows.  If not, contact your computer's manufacturer for assistance.
