Accessing media files from a computer using a PlayStation®4

With the PlayStation®4 (PS4) gaming console, you can also view your photos, play music or watch movies stored in your computer through your network.  This article will help you access the media files on your computer using the PS4 gaming console.
Before following the steps below, you need to:
  • Set up media streaming for Windows® Media Player on your computer.  For instructions, click here.
  • Make sure that your computer and PS4 are connected to the same network.
Step 1:
From the home screen, open Media Player.  Your shared storage drives and media servers will be displayed.

NOTE:  If you can’t find Media Player on the content area, select Library then open Media Player.
Step 2:
From the list, select the name of the computer your files are stored on.
You should now be able to access your computer’s media files using your PlayStation 4.
