Removing External Hard Drive or Flash Drive from WHA devices

Once an external hard drive or flash drive is inserted into the Wireless Home Audio unit, it will detect it and will start to reading and writing Album Artwork information the USB drive. Once this process is interrupted by removing the drive without safely ejecting the drive first, the Wireless Home Audio may not recognize the USB drive after this.

To safely eject the drive, follow the instructions below:

Step 1:
Go to Settings on the DMC250 or DMC350.

Step 2:
Then select USB.

Step 3:
Next, select Eject for DMC350 or Safely Eject for DMC250.

NOTE: The screenshot will vary depending on model. In this example, we are ejecting the USB drive from a DMC350.

Step 4:
Once you receive the message "You may now safely remove your USB device" remove the USB device.

If you remove the USB drive without going through the above steps and your USB drive is not recognized by the WHA unit, follow the instructions below:

Step 1:
Plug the USB drive to a USB port on your PC.

Step 2:
Double click on My Computer or Computer.

Step 3:
Right click on the drive letter that is assigned to your USB drive and select Properties.

Step 4:
Click on the Tools tab.

Step 5:
Click on Check Now.

Step 6:
Leave the Automatically fix file system errors checked and click Start.

Step 7:
Once it completes click Close then OK and double click on the USB drive again from Step 2 above and delete the file called .mediadb that is located in the USB drive.

Step 8:
Safely remove the USB drive from your PC and plug the drive back to your Wireless Home Audio product.
