Connecting a PS3™ to the powerline adapter

Powerline adapters are plug and play devices that create a powerline network which connects to your network’s router using the household wiring.  This article will show you how to connect a PS3™ to your powerline network.

NOTE:  Make sure that one of the powerline network adapters is properly set up on your router.  For more information, click here.

Step 1:
On the main menu, select Settings > Network Settings.

NOTE:  Make sure that your Internet connection is set to Enabled before you proceed.

Step 2:
Select Internet Connection Settings.

NOTE:  If you receive the message shown below, click Yes.

Step 3:
On the Internet Connection Settings window, select Easy.

Step 4:
Select Wired Connection.  This is to connect a powerline adapter to the PS3™.

Step 5:
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the PS3™ and the other end of the cable to the powerline adapter.

NOTE:  In this example, the PLE400 powerline adapter was used.

Once connected, the PS3™ will check the network configurations.

Step 6:
Select Test connection.

After the connection test, you will see the results on a similar screen as seen below.
