How does Linksys Aware work?
Linksys Aware uses your existing WiFi to determine when there is movement inside your home and alerts you through the Linksys App. You’ll need at least two Velop AC Tri-Band nodes to be able to use Linksys Aware.
Does Linksys Aware require any extra hardware?
Linksys Aware works with your existing Velop AC Tri-Band system and does not require any additional hardware.
How do I know that my pets won’t set off Linksys Aware?
You can personalize the sensitivity level to filter out events in your home that you do not want to trigger alerts. The Linksys Aware setup wizard walks you through this once you subscribe. You can change the sensitivity level at any time if it’s not working for you. Go to Linksys Aware > Settings > Motion Alert Sensitivity.
Can I adjust the sensitivity level after I start using Linksys Aware?
Yes, of course. If you find you are getting too many motion alerts (or too few), you can always change your sensitivity level in Linksys Aware settings. Just move the slider up or down to increase or decrease sensitivity.
How do I stop getting motion alerts when I’m home?
You can set schedules to turn on alerts only when you’re away. For example, set a schedule to have Linksys Aware send alerts during weekdays while you’re at work. If you know you’re going out Saturday night, set a schedule to turn on alerts then. You can turn motion alerts on and off whenever you want in the main Linksys Aware screen.
Is there a way to stop receiving alerts for the same motion event?
Yes. Linksys Aware allows you to snooze alerts, just like your alarm clock.
Can Linksys Aware be integrated with other smart home devices?
Today Linksys Aware cannot be integrated with other smart home devices. But we’re exploring all possibilities.
Can Linksys Aware identify the specific location of the motion detected in my home?
No, not at this time. That would be neat, though, and we’re going to work on it. Presently Linksys Aware can detect motion within your WiFi coverage area.
