Getting to know the Linksys N900 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Router, EA4500 v3

The Linksys N900 Dual-Band Smart Wi-Fi Router, EA4500 v3 is the latest version of EA4500.  EA4500 v3 features Simultaneous Dual-Band Wireless-N Router and USB Storage link in addition to virtual USB support for USB peripherals.  Its two (2) radio bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, that wireless work concurrently and support three (3) spatial streams (3 TX and 3 RX).

Setup/Web-based Setup Page
 
The EA4500 v3 includes the Smart Setup which is similar to Smart Wi-Fi routers but there are two (2) features added:
 
  • Clear Device List button – Clears all device information and reboots the router.  If the Device List is corrupted or overloaded with devices that are no longer there, you can click on this button.  
 
NOTE:  Clicking this button will reboot the router and disconnect any Wi-Fi devices momentarily.

  •  Wireless Widget Toggle ON/OFF switch – The switch disables or enables a radio for each band. 
 
NOTE:  You need to change the Security mode to WPA2 Personal if you only want to use the Wireless-N network.  For steps on how to do this, click here.

Mobile App
 
Only the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi App is supported.
 
Firmware/Software
 
The firmware is available via Auto-Update or via the EA4500 v3’s product page.  There is no desktop Setup software but you can use Linksys Smart Wi-Fi mobile app instead.
