Checking the UPnP feature of Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) allows devices connected to a network to easily discover each other and automatically create working configurations.  By enabling UPnP, you can automatically forward the needed ports for a certain device or application.  Examples of UPnP-capable devices include web cameras, online gaming applications, and VoIP devices.

This article will guide you on how to check the UPnP feature of your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router.

Step 1:
Log in to your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account.  To learn how, click here.

Step 2:
On the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account page, click Connectivity.

Step 3:
Click the Administration tab.  UPnP is Enabled by default on all Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers.

NOTE:  If you don’t want to allow UPnP-compliant devices and applications to automatically create working configurations in your network, you can disable the UPnP feature of your router.  Just uncheck the box next to it and click Ok.

Aside from UPnP, the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers come with other features that allow you to fully utilize and enjoy your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi experience.  With your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account, you can optimize your connection speed without compromising your network security.  For more information, click here.
