Establishing Client to Gateway IPsec Tunnel with IPSecuritas VPN Client

The Linksys gigabit VPN routers have a Client to Gateway VPN tunnel feature with some popular VPN client software such as greenbow, safenet, shrewsoft, and IPSecuritas. This article will show you how to establish the Client to gateway VPN tunnel using IPSecuritas VPN client software.
 
Before configuring your VPN client software make sure that the Linksys gigabit VPN router is
configured for the client to gateway IPsec tunnel.

 
1. Download and install IPSecuritas VPN client software on your Mac® computer.
 
2. Double-click the
sf138322-001_en_v3.png icon to open the software then click on Connections > Edit Connections to create a connection.

3. Create a connection name then enter the remote WAN IP address on the Remote IPSec Device and enter the Network Address on the Remote Side.
 
In this example we used these values:
 

Connection name: Demo Test

Remote IPSec Device: 114.25.178.81

Remote Side: 192.168.1.0/24

4. Click the Phase 1 tab and apply the same settings from the Phase 1 Linksys gigabit VPN router.

5. Click the Phase 2 tab and apply the same settings from the Phase 2 Linksys gigabit VPN router.

6. Click the ID tab then apply the same Remote/Local settings from your Linksys gigabit VPN router under Remote/Local Identifier field and Authentication Method.

7. Click the Options tab and make sure that the following boxes are checked.
 

IPsec DOI

SIT_IDENTITY_ONLY

Initial Contact

Request Certificate

Send Certificate

IKE Fragmentation 
 

Since the Mac computer is behind the router, make sure the NAT-T option is Enable.

8. Close the Connections page then click on the Start button.
 
If the icon changed from red to green, that means that the VPN tunnel has been established.

To verify the connectivity between the computer using IPSecuritas and the network:

 

Check if the Client to Gateway VPN Tunnel is connected between Linksys gigabit VPN router and MAC computer successfully.

Check if the Mac computer can Ping the Local Default gateway of the Linksys gigabit VPN router.

Check if the Mac computer can Ping the HTTP Server.

Check if the Mac computer can telnet HTTP Server.

Check if the Mac computer can access the website on the HTTP server.
