The Backup and Restore configuration feature in the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router allows you to backup all configurations made to the router. In cases when you need to reset the router to factory default settings, you will be able to restore your previous configuration using the backup configuration file. This will save you time by not going through the process of reconfiguring the router manually.

Access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router’s local access interface through a browser like Safari or Internet Explorer. To learn more, click here.
On the left navigation pane, click the Troubleshooting Tool under Router Settings.
Click the Diagnostics tab.
To start the Backup and Restore process of your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router’s configuration, follow these steps:
On the Router configuration section, click Backup.
A new window will prompt you to save the configuration file (with .cfg file extension). Tick the Save File option and click OK.
QUICK TIP: You may save the file to your Desktop to easily search for it later.
On the Router configuration section, click Restore.
A new window will prompt you to choose the configuration file (with .cfg file extension) you have saved earlier. Click the Choose File button and browse for the configuration file.
Select the configuration file and click Open.
Click Start to Restore to begin the process.
A new window will then display asking if you want to continue. Click Yes.
NOTE: When the Restore process is finished, the router will automatically reboot which may take a few minutes.
