Configuring Port Range Forwarding using the Linksys app

The Port Range Forwarding feature allows you to set up public services on your network, such as web servers, FTP servers, email servers or other specialized internet applications.  Configuring the Port Range Forwarding feature of your router is made easy using the Linksys app. 
This article will guide you in configuring Port Range Forwarding using the app.  Before you start, make sure to check the following:

  • Write down the ports you need to forward.  Refer to your product documentation or contact your device manufacturer for details.
  • Write down the IP address of the client you will need to configure Port Range Forwarding for.  Static IP addresses should be assigned to the designated computers or servers before using the Port Range Forwarding feature.

NOTE:  Steps and images may vary depending on the operating system of your mobile device and the version of your Linksys app.
Step 1:
Connect your mobile device to your router's WiFi then open the Linksys app.
Step 2:
Tap Manage Your Wi-Fi.

Step 3:
You will be prompted to log in using your Linksys cloud account.  Enter the necessary credentials and tap Log in.

NOTE:  You can also choose to log in using the Router Password.
Step 4:
On the Dashboard, tap the Menu icon on the upper-left corner.
Step 5:
Tap on Advanced SettingsPort Settings.

Step 6:
Tap on Port Range Forwarding.
Step 7:
Tap on Add a rule.

Step 8:
Enter the details for Rule Name, Start Port, End Port and Device IP Address. Then select your option for Protocol.

NOTE:  You can also tap on Select a device to select a client that is already on your network.
Step 9:
Tap Save.

 QUICK TIP:  You can tap on the slider button to activate or deactivate the Rule you have configured.
You have now successfully configured the Port Range Forwarding feature of your router.
