- WUSB6400M: OS X 10.9, OS X 10.10, OS X 10.11, and OS X 10.12
NOTE: The Linksys WUSB6300 v2 is used in this article. The images and steps may vary slightly if you are using the Linksys WUSB6400M.
Before proceeding, it is recommended to disable your Mac computer’s built-in Wi-Fi adapter. To do this, click on the Wi-Fi icon and click on Turn Wi-Fi Off.
Click on a link below to download the latest setup software or utility for the adapter. You can either connect your computer directly to the modem or router or use a flash drive and download the file from another computer.
Look for the file you just downloaded and extract the contents.
Double click on Setup.pkg.
Click on Continue.
Read the Software License Agreement and click on Continue then click on Agree.
Click on Continue Installation.
If prompted to enter your login credentials, enter your password and click on Install Software.
Click the Restart button to restart your computer.
After you have restarted your computer, connect the adapter to an available USB port on your computer.
You can now connect the computer to the Wi-Fi. On the menu bar, click the Linksys WUSB6300 v2 Wi-Fi icon (adapter icon with green waves) and select your Wi-Fi network. If the Wi-Fi is secured, enter the Wi-Fi password when prompted and click on Join.
