Adding another Linksys mesh router to your network

Adding another Linksys Mesh Router as a child node will allow you to expand your network capabilities in the home.  Follow the instructions below, to learn how.

Before you begin:

  • Make sure you have the router on parent mode connected to your modem or gateway with an active internet connection.
  • Make sure you have a Linksys cloud account.
  • Install the latest version of the Linksys app on your mobile device.
  • If you have DFS channels turned on, you will need to turn it off before you add a child. Most child nodes, do not support DFS and this will cause a failure to a child node.  If you have DFS enable and start to add a child, you will receive a reminder to first turn off DFS in the WiFi Settings section first.  Click here for more information.
