What are motion alerts?

Motion alerts, which arrive on your phone as notifications, are triggered when your system detects meaningful motion and are determined by what meets or exceeds your sensitivity level.

To receive motion alerts, you will need to set up a schedule (in Settings) so the system knows when you’d like to get them.  You can customize the time frame, the days covered, and the frequency (time between alerts).

It may be that your motion sensitivity is too high.  To learn more about motion sensitivity, click here.  We recommend lowering your motion sensitivity so that only more meaningful movement triggers an alert.  You can also try increasing the time between alerts.

I’m getting too few alerts.

It may be that your motion sensitivity is too low.  To learn more about motion sensitivity, click here.  We recommend increasing your motion sensitivity.  You can also try decreasing the time between alerts.  If there are motion dead spots in your home, you might want to add more motion devices.

I’m not getting any alerts at all.

Schedules let us know when you want us to send notifications, so make sure you have the appropriate ones created and they are turned ON.  If you already have schedules set up, make sure you have the right permissions in your phone’s settings (go to your phone's settings, find the Linksys app, and make sure you are allowing notifications).

If you're still not getting alerts even if you've already created schedules and turned ON permissions, then your motion sensitivity might be too low or more motion devices probably need to be added.  To learn more about motion sensitivity, click

Small indoor objects, such as curtains and robot vacuums, can trigger motion.  Pets may also trigger motion based on their size, the intensity of their movement, and their proximity to a motion device.  Motion alerts may also be triggered by movement outside of your walls (neighbors behind shared walls and/or package delivery).

You may want to lower your sensitivity level and select motion devices farther away from shared/outside walls.
