1. What is the Linksys AC750 Wi-Fi VDSL Modem Router, X6200?

The
Linksys AC750 Wi-Fi VDSL Modem Router, X6200 is a high-speed ADSL/VDSL gateway that can be set up for both DSL and Cable connection.  It supports 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 433 Mbps on the 5 GHz band.  To know more about the Linksys X6200, click here.

2. What are the default IP address, user name and password used to login to the Linksys X6200 web-based setup page?

The Linksys X6200’s default IP address is 192.168.1.1 and both the default username and password are admin.

3. How do I reset the Linksys X6200 to its default settings?

Press and hold the Reset button at the back panel of the Linksys X6200 for approximately 10 seconds then release.  You can also restore the gateway to its default settings by clicking the Restore Factory Defaults button from the Administration > Factory Defaults page on the modem-router's web-based setup page.

4. How do I reboot the Linksys X6200?

You can power OFF the device then power it ON again, or click the Reboot button in X6200's web-based setup page under Setup > Basic Setup tab.

5. Does the Linksys X6200 have the Parental Control feature?

SETUP & INSTALLATION

1. How do I setup the Linksys X6200?

FIRMWARE UPGRADE

1. How do I upgrade the firmware of the Linksys X6200?

NOTE:  Before upgrading, ensure to download the firmware from the Linksys Home Support site.

To upgrade the Linksys X6200 firmware, follow the steps below:

Step 1:
Connect your gateway to the computer using an Ethernet cable.
 
Step 2:
Launch a browser and enter "192.168.1.1" in the Address bar to access the ADSL gateway’s web-based setup page.  For instructions, click here.
 
Step 3:
Click the Administration > Firmware Upgrade, then click Browse.
 
Step 4:
Select the Firmware Upgrade file, then click the Choose File button.
 
Step 5:
Click Start Upgrade.

NOTE:  Do NOT power OFF or reset the gateway while the upgrade process is still in progress. 


WIRELESS CONNECTION & SECURITY

1. How do I change the wireless settings of the Linksys X6200?

2. How do I configure the Guest Access feature of the Linksys X6200?

Open the web-based setup page of the Linksys X6200 and go to Wireless > Guest Access.  Then enter in the Guest Network Name for both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands.  Click Change to update the Guest Password of the Linksys X6200.

3. What is wireless MAC Filter and what is it for?

The wireless MAC Filter feature allows you to filter your network’s wireless access using the MAC Addresses of the wireless devices transmitting within your network’s radius.  It is one of the security options you can use to protect your network.

4. What should I do if my computer can’t connect wirelessly to my network?

Make sure the Wireless Network Name (SSID) is the same on both the computer and the Linksys X-series Gateway.  If you have enabled wireless security for your network, make sure that the same security mode and key are used by both the computer and the gateway.

5. What wireless bands does the Linksys X6200 support?

1. How do I change the Linksys X6200 administrator password?

To change the administrator password, go to the web-based setup page of the Linksys X6200 and click Administration > Management.  Then enter and confirm the new password in the Router Password field and click Save Settings.  To know more about changing the administrator password of the Linksys X6200, click here.

3. Does the Linksys X6200 allow you to create an FTP server?

Yes, the Linksys X6200 allows you to create an FTP server that can be accessed from the Internet or your local network. 
 
To create an FTP server for your Linksys X6200, follow the steps below:

Step 1:
Connect your gateway to a computer using an Ethernet cable.
 
Step 2:
Access the gateway’s web-based setup page. 
 
Step 3:
Click the Storage tab, then click the FTP Server sub-tab.
 
Step 4:
Enter your preferred name on the FTP Server Name field.
 
Step 5:
Select Enabled to use the gateway as an FTP Server.
 
Step 6:
Enter the port number to use in the FTP Port field. 
 
NOTE:  The default port number is 21.
 
Step 7:
Click Specify Folder to create an FTP folder.  The FTP Folder screen will then appear. 
 
Step 8:
Enter a name for the FTP folder in the Display Name field.
 
Step 9:
Click Select to specify a folder for FTP client access.  Then click the Enter into Folder to display the sub-folders.
 
NOTE:  To create a new folder, enter your preferred name in the New Folder field then click Create.
 
Step 10:
Set a group or user access by selecting from the Available Groups columns, then clicking the transfer >> button.
 
Step 11:
Click the Save Settings button to change the settings.   


4. Does the Linksys X6200 have a built-in media server?

5. How do I disable Anonymous Disk Access?

To disable the Anonymous Disk Access feature on the Linksys X6200 go to Storage > Disk.  Then select Disabled for Anonymous Disk Access.

Yes, it supports QoS and Internet Access Priority QoS.

7. What should I do if I’m using a static IP address on my computer and it can’t connect to the Internet?

8. What should I do if my password used to access the gateway’s web-based setup page does not work?

The administrator password is different from the wireless network password.  If you have lost or forgotten your password for the modem router you may need to reset and change this.  For more information on resetting and changing the admin password, click here.

9. What should I do when I encounter difficulties accessing the Linksys X-series Gateway’s web-based setup page?
