Using Site Survey on the Linksys WAP750AC AC750 Wi-Fi Access Point

The Site Survey feature of your Linksys WAP750AC AC750  Wi-Fi Access Point displays all the wireless networks within the range.  It also helps you determine where to properly place your Linksys WAP750AC between your wireless router and the area with poor signal.
 
NOTE:  The Site Survey is ONLY available if you’re Linksys WAP750AC is set up to work on Range Extender mode.  To know how, click

Follow the instructions below to learn how to use the Site Survey feature of the Linksys WAP750AC.

 
Step 1:
Open a browser to log in to the web-based setup page of your range extender.
 
QUICK TIP:  There are three (3) methods to log in:

 
• Enter http://ap.linksys.com in the Address bar.
 
• Enter the Linksys WAP750AC’s IP address.​

 
NOTE:  If your Linksys WAP750AC is not yet configured, its default IP address is 192.168.1.1.  Once your Linksys WAP750AC is already configured you will need to look up the IP address in your router’s DHCP table.  To know how to do this using a Linksys Wi-Fi Router, click here.  If you are using a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, click here.
 
• Enter "http://WAP750AC-xxx" for Windows users or "http://WAP750AC-xxx.local" for Mac® users, where xxx are the last three (3) characters of the Linksys WAP750AC’s MAC address.
 
Step 2:
Under Wireless, click Site Survey.

The Site Survey page will then be displayed.

• Select - clicking the radio button beside the wireless network name (SSID) selects the SSID.
• SSID - displays the name of available wireless networks.
• GHz - indicates the radio band of available wireless networks.
• Signal Strength - displays the relative position of the available networks within range by indicating the power of the wireless signal received.
 
QUICK TIP:  If no bar is displayed, the Linksys WAP750AC is located too far away from the router.  For optimum performance, place your Linksys WAP750AC near the router to keep the signal strength between 60% and 100%.
 
• Security - displays the security type used by available networks.  If a network supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS), the WPS User-added image icon is also displayed.
 
Associating the Linksys WAP750AC with an access point or router
 
Step 1:
Under Site Survey, click the radio button that corresponds to your wireless network name (SSID) and then, click Connect.

Step 2:
Enter your wireless network password in the Passphrase field then click Connect.
 
NOTE:  The type of security information required in this screen should match your access point or router’s wireless security settings.  The wireless password is also case-sensitive.

Wait for the process to be completed.

You should now have successfully configured your Linksys WAP750AC with your wireless network.  You can proceed with connecting wireless computers and devices to get Internet access. 
 
QUICK TIP:  To know if your Linksys WAP750AC is connected to the network, click Status > WLAN Statistics.

The Network Name (SSID) should display your router’s wireless network name.

QUICK TIP:  If you encounter any issues, a firmware upgrade may resolve it.  You can download the latest setup software of your Linksys WAP750AC to ensure that you are using an updated version.  Search your model number from the Linksys Support site and download the file.
