The Linksys LAPN300 and LAPN600 Captive Portal feature Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Captive Portal?
 
Captive Portal is a new feature of the Linksys LAPN300 and LAPN600 with the firmware version 1.0.14.001 or higher.  It allows you to block wireless clients from accessing the network until user verification has been established.

4. When using the FreeRadius software with Captive Portal, it redirects to the landing page  and will NOT accept the username and password created on the FreeRadius users.conf.  But when using the FreeRadius server without the Captive Portal feature, the username and password works with WPA2 Enterprise wireless security.  What should I do?
 
Make sure that the access point has the latest firmware (FW 1.0.16.002) and the authentication type in FreeRadius eap.conf must be configured as MD5.
