Adding a child node to your Velop system using an iOS mobile device

This article will teach you how to add a child node to to an existing Velop network using an iOS mobile device.  Follow the instructions below.

Requirements

 
1.  A working internet connection via a modem or modem router (gateway)
2.  A mobile device with the latest version of the Linksys app 
 

 
Directions

Step 1:  
Launch the Linksys app and log in to your Linksys server account.

Step 2:  
Tap on the menu User-added image icon and then tap Set up a New Product.

Step 3:  
Tap on Add Another Node to xxxx (where xxxx is your existing WiFi name).

Step 4:  
Tap on To extend my Wi-Fi with a new child node.

Step 5:  
Turn on Bluetooth® if prompted.  Otherwise, tap I would rather set up without Bluetooth.

Step 6:
The Linksys app explains how to place additional nodes.  Tap Next

Step 7:
Plug the additional node into a power source within range of another node then tap Next.

Step 8:
Node detection will begin.  This could take up to 3 minutes.

Step 9:
Tap on Yes, it’s Blinking Purple as soon as the light blinks purple.

Step 10:
The app will apply the settings from other nodes.  This could take up to 6 minutes.

NOTE:  You will be notified when your node was positioned properly.  Otherwise, the on-screen instructions will show recommendations on how to correctly position your node.  Tap Next to continue.

Step 11:
Select a node name then tap on Next.

NOTE:  It is recommended that the name corresponds to the actual location of your node at home.  This will allow you to identify multiple nodes through the Linksys app.  To customize the name, tap Name it something else.

Step 12:
You have successfully added a child node.  Tap Next.

Step 13:
If you want to add another child node, tap Add a Node.  Otherwise, tap That’s it for Now.  You can also add another node later by logging into the Velop dashboard and following the same steps above.

Step 14:
The node will perform a firmware check to verify if your node is up-to-date.  If a new firmware is available, the Linksys app will update automatically.  Otherwise, you will land on the Your Wi-Fi is ready screen and you can tap on Go to Dashboard.

You have now successfully added a node to your existing Velop network.
