The storage device must be formatted properly for the node to recognize it. To learn how to format your USB device using a Mac® computer, click here. For Windows®, click here.

NOTE: The USB port on Linksys mesh routers is suitable only for connecting storage devices. The USB port will not work with printers, scanners, or other peripherals.

Scenario: My external storage device has the correct file format, but it still says "unsupported".

Do the following troubleshooting tips:

  • Check if the drive can be detected on your computer.
  • Log out of the Linksys app and log back in.
  • Reboot the router or node.
  • For a hard drive with multiple partitions, make sure all partitions have the supported file formats.

If you did all the troubleshooting tips above but you are still experiencing the problem, contact the Velop technical support for further assistance.
