Encountering Difficulty Detecting the Storage Link using the Storage Link Utility

If the Storage Link is not being detected by the Storage Link Utility check the following:

  • Make sure that the Storage Link is powered ON and is properly connected to the network.
  • NOTE: For details on how to connect the Storage Link to the network and accessing the network storage web-based setup page, click here.
  • If you are using a router, make sure your computer and the Storage Link are on the same IP range.  To check the computer’s IP Address, click here.  To change the Storage Link’s IP Address, click here
  • Make sure the PC has the TCP/IP network protocol installed.
  • Ensure that you can ping the NAS’ IP address.  By default, it’s  
  • Ensure that no firewall and/or security software is running on the computer and that it’s on the same LAN segment as the NSLU2.  By default, the NSLU2’s LAN segment is
