Wirelessly Connecting the PrintServer to a Wireless Router

To wirelessly connect a PrintServer to a router, you need to sync the wireless settings of both devices.  The wireless settings can be found on the router’s web-based setup page and you need to configure the PrintServer with the same settings.

• Wireless Network Name (SSID)
• Wireless Security

NOTE:  If you are using a non-Linksys router and you don’t know the wireless settings, see your router documentation or contact your router manufacturer for support.

Configuring the Wireless Settings on the PrintServer

Make sure that the PrintServer is already working when hardwired to the Linksys router before attempting to use it wirelessly on your network.  The wireless settings of your PrintServer can be configured using the web-based setup page.

Step 1:
Access the PrintServer’s web-based setup page.  For instructions, click here.

NOTE:  If you're using Mac OS, use Safari to access the PrintServer's web-based setup page.

Step 2:
Go to the address bar and enter the IP address you've assigned to the PrintServer.

Step 3:
On the Setup page, click Wireless.

Step 4:
Enter your router’s SSID. Make sure the Network Type is set to Infrastructure.

Step 5:
Click .

Step 6:
Click the Security sub-tab.  Then select the type of Security Mode you have on your existing network and enter your security key.

NOTE:  Network security keys depend on the type of Security Mode you have on your existing network.

Step 7:

Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the PrintServer.  Then power OFF the PrintServer by unplugging the power adapter then power it back ON.

Step 9:
Make sure the Wireless LED on the PrintServer is lit and the Ethernet LED is off to indicate that the PrintServer is in wireless mode then try to print wirelessly.
