Accessing the web-based setup page of the Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge
This article will discuss the two methods in accessing the Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge's web-based setup page to set up or modify its settings.Using the IP address assigned by the router (DHCP Client Table)
Using the bridge’s default IP address
NOTE: This article assumes that your Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge is already set up and working properly. To learn how to install your Linksys Wireless-N bridge through the web-based setup page, click here.
You can go to your Linksys router’s DHCP Client Table to check your bridge’s IP address. Once you have the bridge’s IP address, use it to access its web-based setup page.
Open a web browser and enter the bridge’s IP address as displayed from the DHCP Client Table of your router in the Address bar.
NOTE: In the example below, the router assigned 192.168.1.131 as the IP address of the bridge.
You will be prompted for your bridge’s login account. Enter the User name and Password in their corresponding fields and click OK.
QUICK TIP: The default password is admin and the User name field is left blank. If you forgot the password of your bridge, reset the device to factory settings. To learn how to reset your Linksys bridge, click here.
NOTE: The Linksys WET610N is used here as an example.
If your bridge is not associated with a DHCP server like a router, you can access its web-based setup page by using its default IP address, 169.254.1.250.
Follow the instructions below to learn how:
Connect your Linksys Wireless-N Ethernet bridge to your computer using an ethernet cable.
Open a web browser and enter “169.254.1.250” in the Address bar.
You will be prompted to enter your bridge’s User name and Password. Enter the User name and Password then click OK.
QUICK TIP: The default password is admin and the User name field is left blank.
You should now have accessed the web-based setup page of your bridge.
IMPORTANT: If you have already set a user-defined static IP address for your bridge, you may use it to enter your bridge’s web-based setup page. If you forgot the static IP address, reset the bridge to its factory settings and use the default static IP address. To learn how to reset, click here.
