Rated 2 out of 5 by from SE3008V2 switch Please be aware that the switch you see on the Linksys website (se3008V1) is not what you will receive. If you prefer the cable ports on the back of the box, this is not the switch for you. I ordered this switch having several V1 versions of the SE3008 in use and are still rock solid. What I received is the se3008V2 version. The cable ports are on the front of the box and also the switch box is much larger than the old version. While it works ok, I prefer the V1 version. Linksys needs to update its website to show the correct version of the switch you are receiving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution I bought the SE3008 a few weeks ago to connect my router to my office equipment that had previously been using 802.AC wireless. Although the wireless was generally adequate I wanted a more reliable and consistent connection speed. The SE3008 has been perfect for my purpose with no drops or problems with connection speed. It is a good looking, right size and is unobtrusive on my office desk. I have two PCs, VOIP Phone and a printer attached to it with room for expansion. Solid hub!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I hate it due to the changes they made First the Review is for the POOR design. Set up is a pain due to ports being in the front. works as intended. This model of SE3008 had a version 1 and a version 2. Version 1 had the Ethernet ports in the back and lights on the front and Version 2 has the ethernet ports in the front. These are desktop models and not rack mount models and so when you have it on the desk instead of the wires going from the back to the side or back of your desk they are in front and causes you to pull the ethernet cords to the front and 1. it just looks tacky and 2. it wants to pull the switch off the desk. Version 2 was a huge mistake in the design. Having ports in the front are great if it is mounted in a rack. These are not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Messed up the original Design I have an LSG-108. Power, and Ethernet connectors in back. Activity LEDs on front. Sits on the desk nicely. All cables on the back side. That evidently no longer exists. Now, to see activity lights, you have to be looking at Ethernet cables. Or, you see no lights, and the power cord is awkardly in front, while all the Ethernet cables are in back. I hate the new design for home-desktop use. I love Linksys devices, but this was a mistake to change this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent switch that works as adverstised. With its sturdy metal housing, which is cool to the touch, this switch just works (I bought two). It can be mounted on a wall or placed on a table but it works very well regardless. If you're looking for a quality switch then Linksys SE3008 should be a the top of your list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy installation! Super easy plug and play installation, small size and a perfect router extension when more Ethernet ports are needed. Great price and a recommended buy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Acts like a 10/100 switch I bought 3 of these switches to expand my network. I have gigablast internet but these switches act like 10/100 switches. My router puts out almost a gig but once attached to the switch it drops down to under 90mbps. If I hook the cable directly to the computer from the router I get almost a gig. Linksys support says that I have to change all of my cables to CAT 6. But they cannot explain why I have no problem when the computer is attached directly through the router. And there is nothing in the system requirements that says I must use CAT 6 cables.
