Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I got this a couple days ago to replace a new installation of an Orbi mesh network for my house. Basically the Orby had become nonfunctional because of conflicts and it’s security software, excluding every day devices. I guess it’s part of the problem was the multiple devices and the complexity of the system. I hooked up the MX10 with one satellite, immediately got the same area covered, including going through stucco walls which are essentially large antennas That create tremendous interference. So far so good, set up was pretty good. Took longer than the net gear, took a couple tries, but all in all in about 10 minutes more. I’ll keep posting if problems arise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One of the most frustrating experiences. I bought this from Linksys and received it today. The initial setup is a bit of a nightmare. The parent node installed after more than a dozen attempts. The child node still hasn't installed after calling Linksys technical support and holding for 90 minutes, only to be disconnected and after being online with chat for over an hour so far. I would stay away from this product and purchase from a competitor. For a $750 wireless router, setup should be easier, but difficult setup would be better than impossible setup, which is exactly what I'm experiencing. I never had this issue with my Orbi mesh setup nor my Google WiFi mesh setup. This is simply rubbish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speed and easy setup Time to upgrade my wifi5 setup. Chose the mesh so that it will reach my garage and 2 floor house. Setup was fast and easy just using your cellphone. I did ethernet backhaul so that I won't lose any bandwidth. I'm liking it so far. I have gig speed and iPhone 11 pro max is hitting 850 mbps standing next to the access point.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rushed Out the Door Purchased the MX10 as a speedier upgrade to my existing Velop mesh wifi system. Unfortunately, I learned after the fact that the MX10 does not support Linksys Shield, a feature that is really important to families. On a lesser note, it also lacks support for Homekit, a feature in other Linksys wifi solutions. I wanted a top of the line solution and am happy with the speed, but I feel like Linksys cheated its customers by pumping out a product that lacks features found that are standard in lower end models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great wifi has never been better I was dismayed when my apple AirPort Extreme wireless router failed, and went into panic when I found out Apple has got out of the router business. I started reading the reviews on mesh systems and went through the reviews. Started thinking I wanted the Eero from Amzon after all their stuff does just work but I wasn't sure after all this is new business for them, Then I looked at the google wifi and again not their core business and found recommendation for the Netgear Orbi which looked to fill the void. I was ready to by this thinking Netgear has been in this for a while then I checked out Linksys because about 20 years ago when I first put wifi in my house before the cable company supported it I had a Linksys router. Boy when you start comparing the Netgear Orbo to the Linksys Velop you really see some brand loyalty in the reviews. In the end the MX10 is pricey but with 4 kids and about 1,000 devices the internet is not going away and I work from home so I need it. I am very happy and the built in USB port to share a printer and a storage device did it for me. The system was easy to install literals 15 minutes with the update and all you have to enter is wireless network name and password. I flipped the setting to bridge mode on my cable company supplied modem/router and like magic 75+ devices started to join the network. I named it the same with the same password so I didn't have to establish connections with all devices. Thanks for making this work Linksys, and I understand all the followers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bravo! Well played, Linksys. Excellent job! First of all, this is an excellent product. Period. The setup within the app was easy. I've noticed the WiFi bandwidth is significantly faster on my iPhone 11 Pro. The routing is also noticeably faster. And as a customer of the MR8300 where the USB drive did not work (and I ripped the MR9000 to shreds in another review), the USB drive WORKS on the MX10. The authentication option on the external drive (USB) was a nice surprise. This way, not everyone with WiFi access will have access to the USB drive with my personal files on it. The form factor is exactly the same as the previous Velop routers, but MUCH BIGGER. I really wish they made this version in black, but I'm okay with the color now that it's been up for a few hours. Did I mention the speed is incredible? Well, the range is also incredible. I switched from one MR8300 and THREE Velop nodes to a SINGLE MX10. No kidding. I even bought the 2-Pack so I'm sitting here wondering what the heck to do with the second MX10. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend or family, but only if it's within your budget. I can't believe these things cost so much, but now that I have everything in operation, I'm getting a sense of real value here. If I was to make a recommendation to Linksys, that would be to get the Linksys services going ASAP (Aware and Shield) with this router because it's clearly missing right now. Also, offer this in black. The white doesn't work well with my living room (or any other room). Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, I like it a lot The setup was good, although not as smooth as I had envisioned. My first issue was communication between the Velop and the modem. They seemed to be a bit shy as strangers tend to be. I had to power cycle the modem three times to get them talking. The Velop app pauses for 2 minutes for the power cycle on the modem, on my third attempt, I plugged in the modem at the 1 minute mark, giving the modem an extra minute of alone time (initializing) before the Velop would try to connect. The connection was made, whether because of my early plug in or it just needed 3 power cycles, the world will never know. Once that was done, everything went fine with the Velop, the remaining issues were device connections. My Apple products all connected without issue; I used the same SSID and Password. My Nest Thermostat connected fine. The Nest Protects had issues. They would connect and disconnect randomly; a few hours on, an hour off etc.. I tried a few things, but nothing really worked. However, after a couple days, the Nest Protects and the Velop became fast friends and there are no further issues. My old DropCam Pros would not connect. I had to remove them from my account (very important to remove them), find a computer that still runs a 32 bit OS, and plug them in to the ancient computer and go through the setup process as if they are new. The NestCam connected fine. I have a newer Yamaha Receiver and Samsung TV, about 4 months old. Both needed to be logged in again. For my ADT security system, I had to power cycle the Gateway. Canon printer connected fine. Rachio sprinkler connected fine. Netatmo connected fine. Everything is up and connected without further issues. The app is great and easy to manage. I use it to manage two separate networks, one at home and one at the office. Linksys needs to add some icons for Apple Watch, Weather Station, etc.. The only bad issue I found with the app, is that I did the sweep thing to clear devices, and it said it would not clear my customizations. Wrong, it cleared them. Bummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best wifi I have ever had This is really good. I upgraded from a Velop wi-fi 5 system with 3 big nodes and 2 repeaters, because I was getting regular drop outs where child nodes lost contact with the parent and then struggled to reconnect. When first installed there were no issues, so I think this was caused by 5 simultaneous zooms on a regular basis due to COVID... The new MX 10s have been superb - I only needed two nodes to provide a much more stable network across a wider area than the 3 nodes I previously had. The range is much better, and the speed when connected to the child node is the same (over 200Mb) as at the parent node. I have a detached garage which is 60 ft away from the house and maybe 80 ft from the parent node. The signal there was patchy but I reused 2 of my older Velop nodes, one at the edge of my house nearest the garage, and one in the garage - the network is now super stable and I get great connectivity everywhere. I am really pleased as wifi issues are so problematic when everyone is working and schooling from home. Well done Linksys!
