Rated 5 out of 5 by boondock51 from Outstanding Adapter I decided to add my outdated Dell Dimension 8300 desktop to our existing two-computer home network. The original adapter I purchased would not install using the setup software so I used the Windows Zero Configuration utility to check its functionality. Even though it worked, I returned to the store for an exchange and the replacement installed flawlessly. So far, the AE2500 is a real jewel--a heck of an adapter! It is very stable, powerful, and reliable. I could not have made a better choice. I highly recommend this adapter due to its outstanding price & solid performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Phbug from Great product, easy to set up and use! "My Cisco Linksys AE2500 Dual-band, WIreless-N USB adapter is the perfect way to add wireless communication to your Desktop PC. You run a setup program from a supplied CD and you're ready to go. No fuss, no problems. In contrast this with another brand of similar unit where the instructions were vague and misleading, as well as incomplete. Hours of time were spent to no avail, even with the ""help"" of their support group. It was a total disappointment and I returned the unit for credit. No such situation with the Cisco Linksys product. Excellent in every way."

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kate from Quite Possibly the Worst Thing I've Ever Purchased I bought this a few months ago for my desktop so I could work from home. It's the most unreliable piece of trash I've ever spent money on. I have perfectly reliable internet, yet this piece of feces disconnects about every two minutes. In fact, I couldn't even stay connected long enough to write this review, I had to switch to using my laptop. I don't care how far away your ethernet port is, running miles of ethernet cord to your computer would be less hassle than dealing with this technological disaster on a daily basis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MidWestGirl from Simple, fast set up and so reliable. I purchased the Linksys wireless adapter to replace another product (let's just say it starts with an N and ends with an R). This other product worked for a week, conked out. After returning 3 more defective products, I ate the cost and bought the Linksys. What a difference! It set up in a few minutes, worked immediately and has not let me down yet. If you want a reliable product, buy this one, you will not be sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug from Quick and easy I have an older Dell XPS series with Windows 10 on it. The Belkin wireless unit I had used for years quit working when I upgraded the operating system (along with the wireless keyboard and mouse.. but that's a long story). I just moved temporarily into an apartment while I look for a new house and didn't want a LAN cable draped across the room to the router so I decided to try this wireless adapter. Plugged it in, connected to the router and working in minutes. No muss, no fuss. My only complaint is the huge size. I put it into the back of my Dell since there are only 2 USB ports on the front. It now sticks out of the cabinet 2 inches so I can't close the desk drawer and I'm afraid that the smallest mistake will smash the device and break it off. No idea why it has to be this big. I have much smaller ones for my laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mawkin from Unbelievably Easy! Never set-up something as easy as this ever! Originally purchased Netgear Wireless Adapter and it took forever to set up, worked sporadically, and spent days with their tech support trying to get it to work. Finally gave up and returned it and got this Linksys Adapter. Wow! I was literally set up in less than 5 minutes and it has worked perfectly for the past 4 months. Cannot go wrong with this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BU1 Retired from Seems to work well once I got it to work. Out of the box it did not set up like the instruction said. I spent well over an hour on the phone with a technician getting it to work. I purchased it as my old Linksys router was supposedly not working right per our ISP, and got another Linksys thinking it would be just turn it on and go. I will say that the Tech support was good. I have no experience using anything other than a Linksys so I don't have anything to compare it to. Also my old Linksys router is still working and it turns out my ISP tech was wrong so I switched ISP's.

Rated 1 out of 5 by kiran from Blue Screen Errors I bought this product a year ago. In the first two months, it worked great. But now i get blue screen error atleast 2-3 times a week. At first i didn't know the problem. But when I started googling the error codes, all of them point towards external hardware. I tried to find the solution for a long time. I gave up. Ordered a new one on Amazon.

*Maximum performance derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specification. Actual performance can vary, including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range and coverage. Performance depends on many factors, conditions and variables, including distance from the access point, volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, operating system used, mix of wireless products used, interference and other adverse conditions.
