Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install, fast performance I was finally fed up paying Comcast a monthly cable-modem rental fee. I've always been leery about replacing the cable modem; anything that risks my broadband connection is not to be tinkered with. However, this experience went faily smoothly. The physical setup was very simple; cable modems aren't very complicated. The quick startup guide provided is easy to follow and has nice diagrams. The only 'issue' I had activiating the device. This issue appeared to be on the Comcast/xFinity side of things, so I had to reach out to them by phone for assistance. Apparently, my xFinity account was not configured to allow online device activation. Regardless, 30 minutes later, the CM3016 is online and performing nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LINKSYS CM3016 16X4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem Had the modem for a month now. Easy setup w/a call to MediaCom to give them the MAC address. Setup total w/call 10 min. Quick start guide provided. Has never dropped carrier with being on 24 hrs. a day. Nice to have an ethernet cable (approx 3.5 ft.) included in the box. Some minor negatives: foot print is about 1 1/2 times larger than the supplied Motorola modem by MediaCom. Would be nice to have an on/off switch. LED lights could be a little larger and brighter. All in all an excellent modem for my home use that I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase or as an upgrade to your home or small office network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys model CM3016--Easy setup and works great! I received the modem through Linksys Friends And Family for review. Replaced my Motorola SB6141 with the Linksys, setup was almost plug and play, although I did have to make one phone call to my internet provider to activate. I use some websites that are a real bore to navigate (scroll down and wait) not with the Linksys it seems to have solved this problem. I am very pleased with this CM3016 and think it is well worth what they ask for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple product, but a real workhorse I've had this modem for awhile now and I have to say the best part about it, is that you forget it is there. It was easy to install via the instructions and activating it for your specific internet service provider is as simple as following your browsers instructions or (like I did) simply call your internet provider and tell them you have a new modem. This works flawlessly with my internet provider and what a savings over paying them every month to lease equipment. I hooked up a Belkin wireless router to this and again, simple and easy with great performance. I would def recommend this to anyone that needs an easy to use system or is tired of renting a modem from their provider. It supports up to 250 Mbps which seems to be quite a bit more than what most services offer. When I called my service provider the agent said I needed to make sure that the modem I was going to use was DOCSIS3.0 complaint, and this modem is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value and FAST! I bought this modem about 2 wks ago and was amazed at what I didn't have before. It was pretty much a plug and play with Time Warner Cable. Followed the screen prompts and made a short phone call and was amazed at how quickly all my web sites that I normally go to came right up about 3x's as fast. No more lag time from clicking and seeing. Definitely money well spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast setup, Fast Speed I have had the Linksys CM3016 for over 30 days now. It was very easy to setup. Instructions were clear and accurate. I called the cable company before hand and gave them the model number and MAC address which was on the box and Modem. Once connected and powered on I had to complete a short Comcast Xfinity setup on line, it took less than two minutes. I am getting the full speed allowed by my cable package (180 Mbps). The design of the Cable Modem was a little larger than my old one but everything else met or exceeded my expectations.

*686 Mbps based on DOCSIS 3.0 throughput. Maximum speed varies depending on the service provided by the cable operator. IPv6 availability is dependent upon your ISP or service provider providing IPv6 capability.
†100/250 Mbps represent the advertised throughput you can achieve with the Internet plan provided by your cable service provider. Actual throughput may be lower than 100/250 Mbps, as this throughput is dependent on your contract with your cable service provider.
Speed references are provided, marketed, and sold by your broadband service provider and not Linksys. Actual performance may vary, including lower network speed and data throughput rate. Performance depends upon many factors, conditions, and variables, including products used, number of users accessing the Internet, type of traffic generated by each user (interactive browsing versus video streaming), interference, and other adverse conditions. Actual data throughput will be lower than indicated and may depend on the mix of products used and external factors.
