Linksys AC1900 Dual Band SMART WiFi Router

The AC1900 wireless router features dual wireless bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) with data speeds up to N600 Mbps + AC1300 Mbps*, great for media-intense applications such as video streaming and online gaming.

Four Gigabit Ethernet ports make it easy to share data quickly across your network, and to external devices - at speeds 10x faster than Fast Ethernet. You can use the high-performance USB 3.0 port** to attach a storage device and quickly transfer large files or share devices across your WiFi network. Plus, the USB 2.0 port is perfect for smaller file transfers or a dedicated printer.

Beamforming focuses the WiFi signal directly to your smartphones, tablets, and laptops instead of sending out a general transmission. The result is a more efficient network with a wider range.

When your device doesn't have to work as hard to receive data, it means not only greater efficiency for you, but also a longer battery life for your connected devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jaw dropping performance I switched from my 300/300 Gigabit router to this unit all four of my ROKU 3 units started performing as advertised. No slow downs etc. I haven't even begun to push the envelope with this unit. I am currently running 4 PCs and 1 Mac (server) along with two NASD 4 TB each 2 printers (wireless) 8 hard wired Security cameras long with 4 wireless cameras, Movies on demand from the server to the entertainment center and my home automation software/services. The range on this is at least two fold over my last Linksys router, which is now set up 2nd inline of downstream routers. I love it! No more arghs and watching a bogged down movies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supporting the "Connected" House This Linksys EA6900 SMART WiFi AC Router Dual Band 2.4 + 5 GHz is the BEST router I've ever owned. It is a little pricy but well worth the cost as it should work for years. Having 3 separate LANs is really great. There is a 2.4 GHz Guest LAN, a regular 2.4 GHz LAN and the 5 GHz LAN for doing lots of Data Streaming. Rather than loading up my old router and slowing it down with tons of data streaming traffic, I decided to go with a router built to handle the chore for normal home owners with the potential of having lots of electronic toys added on, web cams, Roku's, etc.. This is the router to buy if you are looking for the "connected house" environment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost 4 stars I bought the EA6900 as a replacement to a SMC router I had been using for about 14 years. Reason, I wanted to be wireless on 5GHZ because my 2GHZ sound system interferes with my network. I am on the second EA6900. The first unit developed problems that Linksys techs said would require replacing the unit. So far the second unit is working. Linksys' support group I would give 5 stars for swapping the unit out with me. I am worried about future problems as I spent a considerable amount of money for this router. It should have a life time replacement warranty. I hope my review gets posted. I believe in honesty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy setup, excellent performance I put the EA6900 into an increasingly wireless environment in our condo. It replaced an E2500 that was still serviceable, but limited. Using the same WEP code as the E2500 had used, I set it up and then installed it in place of the old unit. Everything came right back up and has been humming along since then. The wireless device count in the household is now over 25, from smartphones to tablets and Kindles to IP video cameras to AirPorts, Rokus, and Chromecast. And the occasional computer. Everything runs fast and signal coverage (even in a concrete-and-steel building) is excellent. Happy, happy, happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Linksys Router...EVER! I do not remember when we have never had a Linksys router once we had cable in the mid-90's. I have an exceptionally large house and about 10 "toys" running off of this wirelessly. We have speed and no log jams at all. For those of you who complain about lost connections, be aware your cable service provider is often more to blame than your router. I've had this router since late June early July as my previous EA2700 didn't have the reach we needed. No complaints here and we are totally wireless. This router is the best! I have an extender we've never had to use as well. Again, it's a great bang for the buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I stream a lot of video and was looking for a router that would allow me to stream on two or three devices at once. I got the EA6900 and it does the job. My Roku boxes load and play without delay. I ran a speed test with my IPad Air and the download speed was 90mbps. My old router would have to be restarted every time we had a power outage, but the EA6900 does not need to be restarted. I live in a two story house and the router is upstairs and the signal is strong enough that no boosters are needed downstairs. Another big plus is how easy it is to sign in and make changes to the router. The reviews I read on the EA6900 said it got hot when in use, but I have not experienced this issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Device! I upgraded this from a previous Linksys router that was dropping connections due to too many wireless devices in the house. It was a cheap one and did had some age. I didn't use the setup disk, more a hands-on guy. Love the speed, new User Interface and remote access without opening ports in the firewall. Would love to see some bandwidth graphs to get of snap-shot of what devices is hogging on the traffic. 5Ghz is way faster than the 2Ghz, but range is much shorter. Note: tried connecting to both 2Ghz and 5Ghz signal. Even in short range, my phone would bounce between connections. Better to use just one or other. All in all, great product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Always thought linksys was the best... I used to love this companies products but now? I dont know what happened but they have a major problem with their routers crashing disconnecting randomly under high usage. Needs to be restarted constantly then glitches up and needs a complete reset to go back to normal for a week or two before returning to a terribly slow connection. The router doesnt seem to understand how to distribute the bandwidth to multiple users so no one gets it and everyone ends up with a slow connections while half the bandwidth is not used. I dont understand how anyone could be happy with a 2 mps connection when there is 30 megs on tap and the router is giving 3 ppl a super slow 2 meg connection.

*The standard transmission rates—450 Mbps or 1300 Mbps (for 5 GHz), 300 Mbps (for 2.4 GHz), 54 Mbps, and 11 Mbps—are the physical data rates. Actual data throughput will be lower and may depend on the mix of wireless products used.
**Maximum Performance derived from IEEE Standard 802.11 specifications (draft specifications for 802.11ac). Actual performance can vary, including lower wireless network capacity, data throughput rate, range and coverage. Performance depends upon many factors, conditions and variables, including products used, interference and other adverse conditions. 802.11ac 1300 Mbps in the 5GHz Band is approximately 3 x faster than 802.11n 450 Mbps in the 2.4GHz Band. An 802.11ac adapter will be needed to achieve 11ac data rates and up to 1300 Mbps wireless speeds may be achieved when connecting to other 802.11ac 1300 Mbps devices.
