Wemo Mini Product Shot

The Wemo Mini Smart Plug lets you control your electronic devices of your smart home right from your phone or tablet. The Smart Plug uses the existing WiFi router of your home network to provide wireless control of lamps, heaters, fans, and more--with no subscription or hub required. Simply plug the Wemo Mini Smart Plug into an electrical outlet, plug a device into the Smart Plug, and control your device using the free Wemo app. Whether you’re unwinding on the couch or vacationing in the Caribbean, you’ll be able to remotely control your lights and appliances from anywhere in the world. Home automation at its best.

Wemo Mini Compact Footprint

With its sleek, compact form factor, Wemo Mini fits into any electrical outlet without obstructing other sockets. This allows you to stack an additional Wemo Mini or plug in another device in the same outlet.

Wemo Mini with Fan

Wemo Mini lets you easily set automatic schedules for any device that’s plugged in--from lamps to fans to space heaters. Using the free Wemo app, you can schedule a fan to turn on at noon, or synchronize a lamp with the sunset so you never come home to a dark house.

Wemo Mini with Lamp

With the ability to randomize your lights, Wemo Mini protects your home better than a mechanical timer. When set to “Away Mode,” the smart plug will turn plugged-in lights on and off randomly to make it appear like you’re home--even when you’re not.

Works with Amazon Alexa and Google Home

Wemo Mini works seamlessly with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa to give you hands-free voice control over your devices. Pair Wemo Mini with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant built-in devices like Google Home to turn your lights, your appliances, or an entire room on or off with just the power of your voice.

Works with IFTTT

"If This, Then That" is a free web-based service that opens up an amazing array of possibilities for your Wemo Mini. Visit IFTTT.com to find "recipes" for making Wemo Mini turn lights on and off based on real-world events, send you push notifications about device activity, and much more.

Wemo App

When a light or appliance is plugged into a Wemo Mini Smart Plug, you can turn it off from your phone no matter where you are. You’ll never have to worry that you accidentally left the iron or Christmas lights on again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from single most frustrating "smart" purchase I have e Spent 6 hours yesterday trying in vain to get this to work. Apparently not compatible with my particular version of android even though I used the wemo android app. So many resets and wifi loss and deletions and redownloading. None of the android fixes worked. Then tried using my Ipad. Yet another trial. I'm trying to set up for Alexa. Ipad and wemo want to set up for Apple home. I don't have apple home. Wouldn't recognise accessory. Can't connect to accessory. Can't find accessory, even though it says it's connecting wemo #.... outlet v2. What a freaking nightmare. was going to give this as a present. Good thing I tried it first. Never again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from App makes these switches useless. Bought these switches about a month ago. They worked great until the app couldn't find them anymore. I factory reset the devices to hopefully fix the issue only for the app to make it impossible to set my devices back up. After a couple of days of trying all sorts of trouble shooting steps, I got one to finally get set up only to have the app not detect them again. What's weird is that even though the wemo app couldn't see the devices, I could control and monitor them without issue through the Alexa app. Would recommend steering clear of these switches until the bugs are fixed. Not worth the headache

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Intermittent connectivity issues Initially bought the twin pack from Costco. After a few setup issues (had to uninstall/reinstall, factory reset switches) I was able to get them working with Alexa just fine. Happy with my first purchase, I bought another twin pack from Costco in March. These worked fine initially with Alexa but now they don't respond to the first command, however they work with an immediate follow up command. I again tried the uninstall/reinstall, factory reset but the "not responding" issue is still there. I still have to repeat the command for them to work. Is anyone else having this problem? I want to get some more but not if this issue continues. Not sure I would recommend to my friends for this reason.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mini Smart Plug Review I bought the 3-pack Mini Smart Plugs directly from Belkin. The plugs have a great form factor and are solidly built; however the setup process was fraught with trouble. While I appreciate the new compatibility with Apple HomeKit, and I eventually want to set the plugs up on HomeKit, I needed to set up the plugs on the Wemo App this time. I tried for two days to setup the plugs, and every time, they wanted to use Apple HomeKit, so I gave up. A few days later, after reading some online blog posts, I managed to figure out the Wemo-only setup. They work fine now, and my only complaint is that the unsecured SSID for each plug is being openly broadcast, with no obvious way to turn it off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says, software needs work Love the size of these plugs and the setup is relatively easy. I was previously frustrated at performing firmware updates with the Belkin products and have found that this still is an issue. When trying to add all three plugs back to back, it allowed me to do the firmware update on the first plug but after adding the second two, it would not do the firmware update. I had to remove the 2 added plugs and re-add them again in order to get the firmware update needed to show up. My old Belkin switches were just as cumbersome. Having said all that, they are easily connected to both my HomeKit setup and my Alexa. Once added, they are a breeze to control and work every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saving energy I now have 7 of these plugs and have noticed a difference in my families energy bill since we started using them over the past year. We’ve always had timers and other devices to turn lights on and off for security and other things but being able to control them remotely if we forget to turn off a lamp or set them to turn off at a specific time has helped tremendously. Set up was a little difficult initially but with some of the updates it has gotten a lot better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A challenge to install. These plugs look very simple to install. They are tricky. After an unsuccessful hour trying to get them to communicate with my home wifi, I gave up. I followed instructions. I force- quit. I unplugged/re-plugged. I reset to factory setting. These plugs look very simple to install. They are not. After an unsuccessful hour trying to get them to communicate with my home wifi, I gave up. I followed instructions. I force-quit. I unplugged/re-plugged. I reset to factory settings. I varied my locations in the house. I will try again tomorrow…and may have to return them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, poor software Good product but problem with setup. You are required to use the app, which is ok, but you have to either scan the code or enter it manually BUT the code is not accessible when you plug in the device (which is a required step). Contrary to the instructions the code isl NOT printed on the instruction manual -- at least not in the 3-pack. This is inexcusable. Additionally, the setup software does not work properly on either the iPad or Android phone. It seems to be clearly designed for the iPhone and works there. The iPad version is the iPhone but does not work properly -- at least for setup -- on the larger iPad screen. Very poor software design. It doesn't work at all for setup on the android phone. So while I like the product, the software leaves a great deal to be desired.
