Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality AP From my testing with an iPhone and a laptop, this seems like a good quality device. Setup is easy, and there's lots of configurable options such as time schedules, guest portal access, etc. I setup the device in my basement and I was able to go all the way up to my 2nd floor and the signal did not weaken much. The POE option will be useful for when I do that. I may get a 2nd one and put it upstairs to help extend the range so I have a stronger signal throughout the house. The dual band capability is nice so that the older devices I have can also connect to it. I'm unable to test the handoff feature since I only have one device right now. So far I'm happy with this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsecure! Do not buy this product if you want to keep public users off your LAN. The product claims to have client isolation to keep WiFi users from seeing other network resources, but even with this turned on, wireless users have full access to your LAN. The cloud management feature also does not include all the features that are visible in the local management of the device. Also just try calling into support, they will not even answer the phone or have anyone monitoring the online chat. I am returning the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seamless design Disclosure: my initial setup was delayed due to the product not being whitelisted for the first week or so. Cloud manager is a great tool for these access points. It provides a lot of useful data that will come in handy when troubleshooting connections. PoE is a great to have if your network currentky supports it or are planning an upgrade. Fairly quick setup to the network. I did experience mediocre bandwidth when connected to this access point. I will need to spent some more time with that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys AC1200 DUAL-BAND CLOUD ACCESS POINT The Good: Excellent Performance for an AP with no antennas Can be powered over POE or included AC Adapter Excellent speed and connectivity in my 3000+ SQFT home. Wall mountable which includes a template for wall mounting Easy for the non techy person to setup and great customization for the pro Can be administered via the cloud Excellent Network Overview & Device Details Great device for home or for the work environment The Cons: Slightly higher priced then other APs within the same form factor but requires less to work and bang for buck still a better purchase Does not include a POE injector (not a big deal to me) You loose some customization when cloud managed vs locally managed. My Thoughts: The Linksys AC1200 LAPAC1200 is one of the fastest, most powerful APs without multiple antennas which I have tested. I have a few different APs in my house because I like to purchase tech and continuously look for the fastest speeds on my network at home. I took a count on my AP and I have about 20+ wireless connected devices. These devices are made up of laptops, phones, tablets, and smart home devices. Even my fridge is connected to my network and is a central hub for my family calendar. One of the biggest challenges I have at home is supporting so many devices and after connecting all of these devices to this Linksys unit I was certainly impressed. Considering it doesn't have 8 antennas like my other AP my wife likes it way better than my 8 antenna unit. You know what they say, happy wife, happy life. Coverage: Utilizing a wifi-analyzer on my phone I first took a baseline of my existing setup to identify what kind of coverage I was receiving. As mentioned above my house is over 3000 SQFT. Once I baselined all the numbers I then switched over to the Linksys unit and found that the Linksys unit that doesn't have antennas wasn't too far off in regards to the reading for excellent connectivity. I then streamed some Netflix videos & prime video and I encountered no buffering. Keep in mind the AP is in my basement and I am in my bedroom which is the furthest point from my IDF closet. As mentioned above I did connect all my devices to the Linksys since I wanted to replicate the same load on my network. Results: Considering this router is a lot more appealing and fits in nicely with other wall mounted units (nest fire alarms etc) it doesn't look out of place like my other 8 antenna unit. The point I can supply power over POE is a major plus. I am going to end up mounting this on my first floor. Based on the coverage I received while this unit was in the basement I am confident I will have amazing coverage with the AP in it soon to be the new location on my first floor. It will end up covering my basement and my 2nd floor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic Review with observations This review is from the perspective of one who has utilized Meraki Cloud-managed AP's for several years. This AP was easy to setup without the Cloud-managed function enabled. It seems like every other high-end AP I have worked with. The Cloud-management setup was fraught with issues. Initially I created my account and when I was trying to add the device to my group it kept coming back as not found. I had trouble contacting Support and was bounced from one tech to another. The Help screen pointed to a bad page (404 error). Once I got to the correct support group, I relayed my issues and was assigned a Trouble Ticket#. The response back was approximately 2 days till I heard that the Serial#/MAC address hadn't been added to the Linksys device table. Once that had been corrected I was able to manage the device thru the Cloud. Compared to Meraki Management this appears to be a Rev 1 version. I'm sure that it will be enhanced as time goes by. I don't believe my client base would use this instead of Meraki AP's but it's possible that an organization without a resident IT professional would see the value in the simplified setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - I checked this unit as a solution to covering large areas with a strong signal. The first thing I noticed is the size, wow it's big. Then I checked out the features, out of the box the unit wanted to be managed via the cloud. Setting up the cloud account was fairly easy. Once I had an account selecting the unit was also very easy. I was impressed with the mounting options and the fact that they included a backing plate for mounting on ceiling tiles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Remote Management and solid performance. Setup of the AP out of the box was incredibly simple and straightforward. The cloud dashboard was easy to navigate and understand immediately. Once the AP was setup I tested it with multiple devices and found them all to perform consistently. Tested devices include iPhone XS Max, Dell laptop with AC wireless card (2x2), and Android phones. The AP itself is large physically, but includes hardware for various mounting configurations. The inclusion of a power adapter to locally power the AP is a plus. While the device supports PoE, the adapter does make it easier to locate the device for a quick or temporary install without having to worry so much about PoE port availability. Overall I would recommend this for anyone who desires a quick easy setup, and has a need for remote management without annual licensing to worry about.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Cloud Manager Setup Setup was extremely easy and quick process. The Dashboard Overview was straight to the point. Range I set mine up in a 5000 sqft building that has just around 35 wireless devices running. At the farthest point I was still seeing a constant speed of 98Mbps Features I did enjoy the bandwidth controls. Because of the amount of devices at my location I like to control my guest usage. Overall I would say the unit is a 4.7 out of 5
