Rated 3 out of 5 by from Strong signal The router works like all other routers, the setup was the biggest pain, having to use your cell phone and register and account is a complete waste of time. I am an IT guy and know what I am doing, I don't need a wizard to walk me through the setup. The wizard was incomplete as to the options that I would like to change on setup. For example, setting the IP address of the router to match the rest of my network. I had to complete the setup, then login directly to change the networking options. Over all it works just fine, the wifi signal is strong and even with plaster walls with wire mesh in them I am able to get a strong signal throughout the house.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What about the MR8300??? I bought the MR8300 with similar promises of available wireless technology around the beginning of the year. This is October and the USB port is STILL not available. The same “promises” of Velop integration and it still does not support Linksys Shield nor Aware. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Linksys fan, but it seems like Linksys is just throwing product out into the marketplace and forgetting about customer satisfaction. What about the HomeKit support Apple mentioned way back in June? Give me a HomeKit compatible router in the same form factor as this MR8300, with a functional USB port, Linksys Shield/Aware, Tri-band, fully compatible with Linksys Velop products/services/subscriptions... maybe some more... and you will have a solid customer here with me. Better yet, do it with a MR8300 and you will likely get a new router customer that will upgrade every 2-3 years all while being subscribed to your services, too. In the meantime, your products are coming out looking fragmented. This router works with that router, but the services are not compatible.... or this router is BRAND NEW but the USB port still isn’t functional... or Linksys and Apple announced a partnership in 2019, but we won’t see anything until 2020. If ever. Please fix everything. I’m barely hanging on as a long time Linksys customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Router w/ Decent Options Overall, this router has actually been really good. It surpasses my WRT32X in bandwidth and switching performance, but also has a lot more configurable options, as well. Being able to use it in bridge mode is a huge benefit as it allows me to extend my coverage and utilize the cabling in my detached workshop, which was a major downfall of the WRT32X. Integrates smoothly with Velop nodes, allowing for even more configurability and greater coverage. Using the iOS app allows for a quick and easy setup that even grandparents could figure out. Does extremely well for gaming, as well. Handles the 1gb internet easily with no issues dropping connections at all. I would gladly use this router again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could be 5 stars if USB port worked Setup was easy and went better than expected. Used same Wifi SSID and passwords and all devices in the home came back online with little or no intervention. This was great. I have the Velop mesh network as well and this needed to be redefined. A note to all: Factory reset all the nodes first. This will save time. Only downside is the non working USB connection. Other routers have this and it used for network attached storage. In this day and age this is a necessary function.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with Velop So, I started with a Velop 2 node system already installed. I struggled to get the pairing set up, but eventually, I just rebooted it all and started fresh. The MR9000 is a solid built router and seems to have pretty good range as well. The biggest thing I was missing with the Velop system was not having enough ports for hard wired items. Now, I have the additional ports and am looking for what else I can hard wire in. Even though I struggled to get the router implemented, I would say it's a great setup and I'm very happy with how everything turned out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow fast and easy setup with my Iphone Linksy App After easily configuring the new MR9000 router I connected my Velop nodes to increase WiFi access to all areas of my property. The Velop nodes needed to be reset before working correctly. So far the eleven devices on my network are working great. WiFi speeds to my TVs has improved for streaming Netflix and such. My WiFi printer performance seems to have improved slightly. This Tri-band mesh router appears to combine both speed and mobile device reliability. I will update my comments if I see any changes or problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features and FAST!! The unit is working great and is very fast as compared to my previous AP. The setup was not as easy as I thought it would be with the Linksys app..It took me several attempts but I was able to figure it out. I would have given it 5 stars if the setup would have been easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Install, Solid Router We upgraded from the MR8300, so I was already familiar with the setup. It took less than 10 minutes to get everything plugged in, situated and working. We have a 3600 sq ft cinder block house, so wifi has always been an issue. Our current setup uses four Velop access nodes to reach every room. With simultaneous gaming and streaming for the entire family, we haven't had a single error or drop in latency since I installed this router. As always, I'm glad I went with Linksys.
