Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smart plug bricks itself without a Wemo account It's easy to add the smart plug with the Apple Home app. However, after a certain amount of time, the smart plug silently bricks itself without explanation (HomeKit shows the dreaded 'Not Responding'). Running out ideas, I ran the Wemo app (which I hadn't ever used to this point) which requested my location for no reason and there the smart plug showed as available but it needed 'Activation'. What? Of course, activation requires an account with Wemo. I don't want an account with Wemo. I want a smart plug that works with HomeKit! What kind of company sells a product that intentionally bricks itself after setup?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My Wemo Except The Setup Instructions I have several Wemo products installed in my home. I purchased the Wemo Smart Plug to use with some outdoor lights. I found the Setup Guide that came was not very useful. In following the instructions for a manual setup I could not get past the last step to enter the Wemo code. My iPhone app continue to give me an error message over two days. Having installed other Wemo smart plugs and switches I finally realized I could use the method used for other plugs. This involves waiting for your iPhone to find the plug in your settings>wi-fi and selecting the plug. From there going back into the app allowed we to finish the setup. This detail was found nowhere on the instructions or the packaging. With this said I will remain a Wemo customer and continue to purchase plugs and switches as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You’ll wonder how you ever lived without them! What I do love about these plugs is they work with Apple, Google and Alexa unlike the other plugs in the market. They are also super easy to set up and join together in a group. This year we decorated early and had multiple Christmas lights (trees, Christmas village etc. we plugged them all into different wemos in different rooms and from our phone we can turn them off and on with the touch of one button in the home app on our iPhone. We can also tell Alexa to turn the off and on. Makes life so much easier! We ended up buying some smart light switches to in order to turn light switches that are hard to get to off and on! Love these products!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wemo WiFi Smart Plug disconnect First off I have been a Wemo fan for 5 plus years. I have 11 mini's 5 switches and 6 dimmers. I also bring out 8 more mini's at Christmas. They all stay connected to my router with no issues. I recently purchased 6 of the new Wemo WiFi Smart Plugs. Setup up was straight forward. In less than a day they would start flashing orange. I would check my router and it would show full wifi connection to the smart plugs. I did the FW update yesterday thinking this issue would be resolved, actually made it worst with a faster disconnect. I did reboot the router after the update just in case but still not working. All my other Wemo products stay connected. Also after setting up rules they will not execute. I can't be the only one with this issue. Note my WiFi Router is the ORBI AC3000 with the latest FW

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Requires reset every so often, still love it Unstable. I have dozens of Wemo products in my home--I was an early adopter when they first started coming out with these smart home devices. I love them so much but every few weeks they all decide to just disconnect or stop working from the Wemo app (and sometimes also in Alexa). I end up having to reset the devices to get them to reconnect to my very solid Ubiquiti wireless network, but it's time consuming and frustrating and a couple of my devices are in hard-to-reach places making it that much more of a hassle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid for your sanity Just when Wemo stopped being buggy for me, along comes the new mini plug to wreak havoc. Setup was onerous as it forced me to download apple HomeKit. Then that seemed to revert all the established rules in the Wemo app to some past incarnation. Lots of app deleting and reloading and hard resetting of multiple devices. Moreover, the new plugs are not discoverable by Alexa despite several attempts, even though all old plugs are during every try. If ever there were a smart product with negative value, Belkinn has figured out how to create it. Well done Belkin. You’ve finally convinced me to give up once and for all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Worth The Price - WORTHLESS! I was initially very happy with this item until I tried to move it someplace else. It functioned basically in the other place for a few hours, and then stopped working. I moved it to the original place, and reset it like a dozen times, tried the app, tried it manually, and it just refused to work again. The instructions to reset via the app are worthless and direct you to icons like a pencil that don't exist in the app, OR tell you to hit Factory Reset when there is no Factory Reset button! This is like being in Hell, where you have to do the same thing 10,000 times and failing every single time. The funny thing is, I got this thing on Apple's recommendation because it's listed as being HomeKit compatible. "You can find it because you have to reset it. But you can't reset it because the reset process doesn't work!" AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult to set up and prone to error I've used Wemo smart plugs dating back to first generation devices. I found the new smart plug to be riddled with problems. I wasn't able to set it up and had to call support for a "work-around." Once set up, it will frequently fail to be recognized by the network. Online instructions for trouble shooting are not that helpful.
