Accessing the web-based setup page of the Linksys WGA54G

The Linksys Wireless-G Game Adapter (WGA54G) has a built-in web-based setup page that allows the user to customize settings and set up advanced properties.

There are two (2) ways to access the game adapter’s web-based setup page:

i.  Connecting the game adapter directly to your computer
ii. Connecting the game adapter to a router

Connecting the game adapter directly to your computer

Step 1:
Connect your game adapter to the LAN port of your computer.  Make sure the LEDs are lit on your device.

 


 

Step 2:
Assign a static IP Address on your computer.  For instructions, click here.

NOTE:  Ensure that the static IP Address that you are setting on your computer is within the range of the game adapter’s default IP Address.

After assigning static IP to your computer, you may proceed to accessing the game adapter’s web-based setup page.

Step 3:
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.

To access the game adapter’s web-based setup page using Mac, click here.

Step 4:
On the Address bar enter your game adapter’s default IP Address “192.168.1.250”.



 

QUICK TIP:  If the IP Address of the WGA54G has been changed, enter the new IP Address in the Address bar instead.  The game adapter’s IP Address can be changed on the web-based setup page.

NOTE:  If you forgot its IP Address, you can press the Reset button underneath the antenna for 30 seconds.  This procedure will reset the WGA54G to factory defaults.  Any previous settings on the game adapter will be erased.  The game adapter’s IP Address will be “192.168.1.250” and the password will be “admin” after resetting.

Step 5:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password.  Leave the User name field blank and enter the default password “admin” then click OK.



 

NOTE:  If the password of the WGA54G has been changed, enter the game adapter’s new password in the Password field instead.

QUICK TIP:  The game adapter’s password can be changed on the WGA54G’s web-based setup page.

You will be directed to the game adapter’s web-based setup page.  After accessing the setup page of your game adapter you can now configure its wireless settings.  For instructions on how to connect the game adapter to a Linksys router, click here.

Connecting the game adapter to a router

IMPORTANT:  Before accessing the WGA54G’s web-based setup page, make sure that the game adapter is powered ON and is directly connected to one of your router’s numbered ports.



NOTE:  In this image, the WGA54G is connected to one of the numbered ports of the Linksys E4200 router.  Image may vary depending on the router you are using.

Step 1:
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.

On the Address bar and enter your game adapter’s default IP Address “192.168.1.250”.
