- Resolving wireless connection issues of your HP Officejet 6600 Printer
Today, printers are not just used for producing high quality text and graphics. It is now capable of scanning images, photocopy documents, send faxes and even connect wirelessly to your router like the HP Officejet 6600 Printer.
Wireless is a better option than wired or USB connection but there are instances when you can experience problems when connecting the printer for the first time. This article will help you resolve wireless connection issues of your HP Officejet 6600 Printer.
Make sure that the wireless light is ON
Make sure that the computer is connected to your own wireless network
Perform a complete powercycle

Make sure that your computer is not connected to your network over VPN
Ensure that the blue light near the wireless icon on your printer is ON. If it’s not, then the wireless capability of the HP Officejet 6600 Printer may be disabled. Follow the steps below to know how:
Press the right arrow icon.
Select Setup > Network.
If you see Wireless: Off, press it and select On instead.
Ensure that you are connected to your own wireless network and not your neighbor’s. It is recommended that you personalize your Wireless Network Name (SSID) during the installation process. Sometimes, you just need a complete powercycle to resolve the wireless connectivity issue of your printer. This is to synchronize all the settings of the devices involved. To do this, follow the steps provided.
Turn OFF your modem, router, printer, then the computer.
Wait for a few seconds then power your devices back ON in this order: modem first, then router, printer, and finally your computer.
To do this, follow the instructions below:
Ensure that your wireless printer is ON and that there is an available paper in the tray.
On your printer’s control panel, press the right arrow icon.
Select Setup > Network.
Select Print Wireless Network Test.
NOTE: Your HP Officejet 6600 Printer will print a report showing the test results. If the Wireless Network Test indicates that your wireless signal is weak, try moving the printer closer to your router or access point.
The Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a security measure to protect data as it leaves one network to another over the Internet. Most company-owned computers use this for security reasons. However, most VPN services don’t allow access to local devices while your computer is connected to it. Disconnect from the VPN first then try connecting the printer again to the wireless network.
