Resolving Linksys wireless adapter installation issues using Windows® 7 or Vista®

This article will guide you on how to resolve issues when installing the driver of the Linksys wireless adapter using Windows® 7 or Vista® operating system.  Click on the links below to know how:

Uninstalling the previous drivers

Step 1:
Click the Pearl  button located on the bottom left corner of the screen.  Type “device manager” in the Start Search field, then press [Enter].

 


 

NOTE:  If a User Account Control window appears, click Continue.
 


Step 2:
Look for Network adapters and press the + button to expand.  Right-click the Linksys wireless adapter then click Uninstall.

NOTE:  In this example, the Linksys Wireless-N PCI Adapter WMP300N is used.

Step 3:
On the Confirm Device Uninstall window, check Delete the driver software for this device. then click OK.

 


 

Reinstalling the updated drivers

To reinstall your wireless adapter, download its latest driver from the Linksys Support Site.  For instructions on how to update your adapter’s driver, click here After updating the driver, restart your computer and check the Device Manager if the driver is properly installed.
