Changing your router's password using an Android tablet

Personalizing your router’s password will ensure you that there wouldn’t be any unauthorized access to your wireless router’s settings.  This process helps you secure your Wi-Fi.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure that you already know your router’s IP address before going through these steps.  If you don’t know the IP address yet, click here to learn how.  If you have the Linksys Connect software installed on your Android™ tablet, you can also use it to check the router's IP address.  For instructions, click here.

Step 1:
Access the router’s web-based setup page though your Android™ tablet.  To learn how, click here.

Step 2:
Tap the Administration tab.

NOTE:  In this example, the Linksys E4200 is used.

Step 3:
In the Router Access section under Management, replace the current password with your preferred router password in the Router Password and Re-Enter to Confirm fields.

QUICK TIP:  The router password is case-sensitive.

Step 4:
Scroll down and tap Save Settings.

You should now have successfully personalized the router’s password through your Android™ tablet.
